At least we have Finsbury the week after.

Yeah this is very true. Glastonbury will be incredible for the atmosphere and seeing those songs again (and, for me personally, two of my friends that aren't coming to Finsbury will get to see them) whereas Finsbury will give us the proper long setlist. Gonna be a cracking few weeks!

Don't think so, just what i read on a prediction not sure why I put it like that lol - most likely for Sunday anyway i reckon sorry

Clashing Hot Chip and Prodigy would be a crime against humanity for me.

I honestly can't see any universe where Pulp are not there. It would be actively weird for Jarvis, who loves the festival and has history with it, to turn it down. Even in a smaller slot than they might get elsewhere. I just can't see that.

Yep I find it hard to imagine them not being there.

I know Jarvis loves glastonbury and goes many a year without playing (as a punter?)  He was there at least from the Saturday last year (best mates sister bumped into him) when he was only playing on the Sunday. So I’m 100% convinced Pulp will be there. I was having a year off Glasto until the pulp rumours started then I just knew I had to try for tickets.

He’ll be there. Pulp will be there. It makes perfect sense.

"You didn't think we were gonna let you down, did you?" Jarvis, Glasto '11

I believe with all my heart they'll be there. However, I have the absolute fear they'll be up against Elton. That'd cause me some soul searching.

Edit: I KNOW I'm straying into 'Adele to sub Radiohead' kinda territory here but is it entirely beyond the realms of possibility that AM would sub them? In a charitable cap doff to their Sheffield elders? Is it only in my dreams that AM could choose to appear humble rather than be schooled and eviscerated by Pulp playing before them?

No contest for me. Never thought I'd get the chance to see Pulp at Glastonbury again. Unmissable stuff. But I also don't think they will clash.

If I were the booker I'd want someone younger and fresher up against Elt but I'm not and who knows what their choices are.

The more I think about it, the more I think they will be subbing Arctics. To my mind it's kind of ridiculous due to the gulf in quality between the two acts but I'm warming to the idea. Only real downside is a shorter set.

Absolutely no idea! Would be a big job to go back and check... trying to think if there have been any really high-profile subs?

Biffy Clyro strike me as the sub nearest to headline capabilities at the time of their appearance in recent years. Was probably the first year I'd have considered them out of the window of Pyramid topping material. (Between 2013 and 2016, think they were ripe to do it.)

Did Primal Scream get a long one?

Just an hour, apparently. Elvis Costello, curiously, got seventy-five minutes below them in 2013 however.

What a run that was that year. Reminded me it's a decade since Rolling Stones played.

My plan was to start from the back for Costello and slowly make my way forward. Worked a treat. Ended up about tenth row.

What a plan pulled to perfection!

Got to imagine it was gangbusters to a point. That Costello setlist is very good.
