Not sure if I read it on here or somewhere else but apparently they were playing Muse on the main stage to sound check in the mornings. Doubt this means much but they’re due an appearance aren’t they? No idea if they have 2024 plans already though, I can’t stand them personally 😅

Even though recent album was total guff; seems about the right time for them to return.

Fred Again / Kasabian

Muse / Playboi Carti

Tyler The Creator / Yung Blud

Not been to Leeds Fest since 2011 for some reason or other. But went for the Saturday this year and I'll be honest, I thought it was great! The production is a leap forward to what it was when I last went, great sound, I thought the atmosphere was fantastic. I didn't see an act/band that I didn't enjoy either. Would definitely think about going next year although that would mean I'd be celebrating my 50th there!!!

The six headliner format makes it look so unappealing, if you'd told me 3-4 years ago doubling the amount of headliners would make it worse I'd have laughed but every suggested set so far has looked terrible to me.

Andre nailed it in the other thread, Festival has seemingly lost its core identity with the way streaming has evolved.

I thought Muse were finishing off this cycle to be honest - they do seem to constantly bang out albums though so maybe

I feel like the fact they got booked for a Mexican metal festival means they're back in those circles and would make them a good choice for Download. Though maybe that's just me hoping it means they bring back some of the fun Drop D oldies like Dead Star again.

they were never out the download mixer, they do metal fests every year pretty much ... download just love booking the same acts repeatedly

If they stick with the current format:

MSE - Muse / Travis Scott / Mumford & Sons

MSW - Fred Again / Kasabian / Yungblud

Seems that Benn has been quoted about “changes being made for next year”

Whoop!!

I can feel a BIG TENT BACK vibe brewing fellas!

Shock horror, they’ve finally realised that  a much larger majority of Reading goers than thought are returning customers, who have obviously f**ked it off post the 2021 changes…

Even more hope that they’re gonna change things back to win back those who gave it up post shitness!

If they return to the old format…

Main

Fred Again // Travis Scott

Muse

Olivia Rodrigo

BIG TENT

AJ Tracey

Chase & Status (live)

The Wombats

I’d be back for that but not in the big tent for any headliners

I am not sure if I would want the big tent back or not.

I guess the big benefit is that you get back the bands who are not quite big enough for main stage who are on their way up.

For next year - I was wondering what is the chance of a Tame Impala or Haim? Both are headlining festivals now.

For the older rock band type - how about The Strokes? Could they do the Main Stage East?

Don't think HAIM are much of a draw at all

Travis Scott main

Phoebe Bridgers in the BIGTENT

Would be perfect programming and appeal to a massively wide audience

A tough clash for me but would only show how strong the lineup is

Prob too big to happen really, can’t see Bridgers going down well on the main stage these days though and the tent would be perfect for a headline set from her
