Could be a shout for opening for Green Day on their UK dates if Smashing Pumpkins/Weezer's co-head tour means they're ocupado.

I and many other went to see Girl in Red One of the few nights since 2019 when there’s been a genuine alternative for me to see against any of the headliners
andyrhodes24
That LG set at Leeds was one of the best headline sets I’ve seen. Acts like LG, similar to Fender last year, are special because they bring a unique atmosphere. There’s a buzz about the place the whole day. Andre91
Wolf Alice aren’t going to headline either Main Stage. Sam Smith won’t play. Doja Cat would be MSE. Little Simz isn’t playing the same slot she played the last time she appeared. J Hus is too low.

Hardly going to sell day tickets vs the acts we've been talking about i think Wolf Alice’s last U.K. show was Leeds 2022. There’s not been a peep from their socials since December 2022. It’s no big surprise they’ve not got any bigger… A decent and well hyped album with some big songs next year could very easily push them there, given the boxes they tick. That said, there are no signs it’s forthcoming…

Their next step absolutely is headlining the second stage. Sam Smith is HL Sziget and is off the same ilk as Halsey, Charli XCX etc. Doja Cat absolutely won't be MSE. She is what they thought MTS would be. Little Simz played 3rd on the second stage, not 3rd on the big stage. What has J Hus done lately that would get him higher than 3rd? Central Cee has invariably left him in his wake, and he played 2nd.

No she didn't. 4 minutes ago, Chad888 said: What has J Hus done lately that would get him higher than 3rd? Central Cee has invariably left him in his wake, and he played 2nd. Three successful albums and has provably shifted tickets at his own shows which Central Cee hasn't done to the same scale yet. Central Cee will headline in 2025 probably, J Hus is just further in his career at this point. He's absolutely not playing 3rd MSE, anyway. Gejonimo
Mad that people still have hope for good acts to be booked looking at the state of the past few years. If Blink and Fred Again...are pretty much nailed on, that's your two biggest. Don't care if you don't like Fred, he could sell out an arena tour tomorrow. Royal Blood makes sense for a cheap one, maybe Soft Play, maybe Idles. I'm not even going to guess for anyone from the grime/rap/hip hop scene as I'm not very clued in. My point being, everyone lets the predictions and hopes run away and every year end up being disappointed. Lower the expectations somewhat, and it might make announcement day slightly less sh*t. Completely agree expectations need to be lowered, but neither Soft Play or Idles are going to headline.

Fred will be the smallest of the 3 MSE headliners (esp if Eminem turns out to be true) He is definitely in MSE contention, if he ends up as MSW they will have done very well i think
