can't quite remember someone else will say, but nailed on apparently

Anyway if Eminem is in then you could replace him with Doja in my prediction. Eminem, Gallagher, Blink would be a very strong MSE trio, mind.

No stronger than this years I reckon

would be quite an old trio i must say - all broke out over 20 years ago

Seems unlikely to me Doja Cat would be MSE over Fred Again tbh

Doja cat is massive imo (at least what I feel/have gathered being a 19 year old)

shes 8th most listened to artist in the world on Spotify (73mil monthly listeners compared to Fred’s 14mil), she has a devoted fan base, and has at least 6 singles that the majority of people my age know (say so, boss bitch, kiss me more, woman, need to know, paint the town red… more than Fred, or blink for that matter) plus other successful songs.

She’d thoroughly deserve a MSE slot imo

Yeah pretty big to be fair

I guess Fred could do MSW but think he'd be quite mad to

He's been so weird with touring its hard for people to see how big he actually is i think. For example in London he sold out 5 nights at ally pally instantly, which is the same as Sam Fender when he did Finsbury

2013 X 2014 + 2 👀

1 of Green Day, Eminem and Biffy

2 of QOTSA, Paramore, AM and Blink

Biffy and AM too recent - could mean QOTSA returning after dropping out perhaps as an alternative to Paramore

Wolf Alice’s last U.K. show was Leeds 2022.

There’s not been a peep from their socials since December 2022.

It’s no big surprise they’ve not got any bigger…

A decent and well hyped album with some big songs next year could very easily push them there, given the boxes they tick.

That said, there are no signs it’s forthcoming…

I never bought the whole ‘Wolf Alice will be headliners one day’ thing from the NME, R1 etc. It was cool they had a front woman in 2015 but their USP isn’t unique any more. Genuine question, is there a general consensus on what their biggest song is?

It’s clearly Don’t delete the kisses, re streams etc and they always finish on it live now

They’re a fantastic band, in today’s environment where bands aren’t cool and they actively don’t court social media type hype/ publicity, it’s hard to imagine how they could headline, without some proper belting hits on the next record

Another introspective Blue Weekend type record certainly won’t do it

Come on guys, we're doing that self defeatist thing again, where we determine that R&L entire line-up is always crap and cheap, and then we start promoting acts higher than they are, based on selling well on their own personal shows with dedicated fans looking to spend £30 for an hours entertainment.

It was Don Broco last year, we were elevating them to subbing MSE, and we thought Yungblod was going to headline and was arguing for that. A year later, Don Broco played 5th down the 2nd stage, and Yungblud is expecting to step up to sub.

We are now promoting Doja Cat and Fred Again to headliners of the big main stage, even Travis Scott subbed the Main Stage after dropping a string of huge albums.

I don't know if its because to the younger fans, everything seems like the biggest thing ever if it is in the mainstream, when I was 18/19 Flo-Rida, Plan B, N-Dubz, Pitbull, Calvin Harris and Tinie Tempah were the biggest acts out in pop and dance music, and now we would laugh at the concept they may have headlined. Ask me back then though and I would have said "duh they should headline, they're like the biggest thing ever".

The festival was routinely booking massive pop artists back then though, that’s the difference. Now they are.
