Great smaller festival this, i enjoyed the set up last year for Strokes and will be interested to see who else is playing when they announce it on 28 October.

Haha. I'm not a massive fan of either but it's good to see them booking something out of the norm. It'll sell pretty well I'd imagine.

Given they booked The Strokes to an English exclusive last year, seems clear Lytham have the financial clout to pulls some sizable acts into the mix.

Will be very curious to see how this sells. I think at 20,000, it'll be the smallest show on their tour - Wembley in an all-seater configuration posted 63,804 for Billy Joel the other year, for example - but given route links, would imagine audiences towards Manchester could well plump for Sheffield, where the hometown factor will help.

Anyone know how much these tickets have been for the day in the past? Annoyingly anyone 2+ has to be full price tickets. Most other festivals is 5+.

Can't see them looking back, I must admit. Could be wrong, mind.

If they're fully locked into festival mode next year - eighty-minute sets with all the hits - they'll go down a treat.

general consensus was they had something else and it fell through. it was originally advertised as a north of england exclusive

depends on the show but a few of them appeared on the seat filer sites this year near the time.

Also I hear they charge food traders 7K plus a cut of the takings.

£7k for all 5 nights is quite a lot without the cut of takings right? Especially if they can't even fill it

Especially at it was from about 3pm to 11pm each day

It was 10 nights this year, 7k might have been for the full run, not this years fees?

From memory last year was a one off, because of no events in 2020 or 2021.

The one-off lineup was beefy this year. Oddly enough, Def Leppard on their own might well have been in the regular wheelhouse - it tends to be arena acts rather than stadium ones.

They also quite often share a few with Scarborough Open Air Theatre from memory?
