Apparently Benji has already said it's not them haha! Can see it being a mid-sized Slam Dunk band for the Avalanche (Funeral for a Friend with the Holding Absence singer is my guess)

What’s tonight’s lottery numbers please?

Sum 41....Ally Pally

FFAF.....Roundhouse and a bunch of other small to standard academy venues

Machine Head....arenas

FFAF.....Norwich uea, Birmingham 02

Pantera

FFAF

Billy Talent....sub second Slam Dunk, smiling sized venues mostly on tour.

The Used....Kentish Town Forum similar to Roundhouse.

Bit different! But this is on a non festival biased view.

You can't compare Sum 41 with Simple Plan in a one off show at Ally Pally against a tour of Cardiff Arena, Victoria Warehouse, Brum Academy, Roundhouse, Glasgow Academy, Leeds Academy and Norwich UEA that sold out almost every date.

Same for the Machine Head tour. That was a co-headliner of Machine Head and Amon Amarth that sold really badly and even with free tickets being given away the arenas were half-full if that.

They've had less time this time than they did in last year and people didn't complain about Skindred who are of a similar size, but festival favourites.

Sum 41 were doing bigger tours when they last played and headlined the stage. I can compare because they are all small couple of thousand max venues that will sell out because they are to spread to go to another venue. Does it matter if it was a one-off?, simple plan aren't exactly a big ticket seller are they.

Victoria Warehouse is 3-3.5?, Cardiff Arena is the only venue Cardiff has so many acts player there that do smaller places.

It's a dream world to believe that, that FFAF tour is worthy of having jump on and straight into a headline set to a level as well of Pendulum, Halestorm and I Prevail.

Sunday has sold out, wasn't expecting that (even with 25,000 less capacity)

25000 less I missed that, is that confirmed?

As for selling out, well I'm not really a fan but Limp Bizkit probably helped a lot with that.

Part of the residents pack they put out for the locals, quite a few interesting bits in there: https://www.castledonington-pc.gov.uk/uploads/dlf-24-residents-traffic-info-17.pdf?v=1716457086

Includes diagrams of where they want people parking etc

That Saturday is so good, but the price is still a bit much. Might keep an eye out couple of days before for cheap tix.

Heriot > Wargasm > The Hunna > Frank Carter > GEL > Babymetal > Noahfinnce > Shikari > Food > Offspring > Pantera > Bit of Fear Factory > FOB > Leave early

Fair play, that is a banging day

Someone has updated the clash finder. I might be wrong but it looks like the secret set is on the Sunday on the Dogtooth stage.

is it just me but the period between patera and fallout boy seems to give me the impression there's another act on the stage that evening

App is updated. There’s a gap in the schedule on the Sunday.

That’s pretty normal for download to be honest. They do normally have a headliner up against no one.

25% less punters for capacity and there seems to be plenty tickets left.

Limp Bizkit and Machine Head is the worst clash in all my years of going to festivals. I cannot believe it. I guess I’ll leave Bizkit in time to get there for MH.

My weekend looks like this:

URNE > The Callous Daoboys > Zulu > Soft Play > Black Stone Cherry > Mr Bungle / Scowl > Heilung > Queens of the Stone Age

Asinhell > Bleed From Within > Guilt Trip > Gel > Dying Wish > Enter Shikari > The Offspring > Pantera > Fall Out Boy > Sullivan King

Code Orange > Creeper > Kerry King > Thy Art Is Murder > Sum 41 > Electric Callboy > Limp Bizkit > Machine Head > Avenged Sevenfold

Wow. Thanks for sending that. That is quite a dramatic drop in capacity. I wonder if is permanent? Helps explain the price increase too.

Fri - TDC-Urne-Struts-Polyphia-Soft Play-BSC-Mr Bungle-Make them suffer-QOTSA/Biohazard

Sat -  Florence Black- Bleed from Within-Frank Carter--Slaughter to Prevail-Ne Obliviscaris-Tom Morello-Offspring/Pantera-Fear Factory

Sun- Code Orange-311-Creeper-Kerry King-Corey Taylor-Machine Head-BDM

For me this personally this is the weakest DL line up and other than Mr Bungle and Machine Head, everything else  on the list is there because it's best option at the time.  I normally get pretty excited in the lead up to DL but this year for me is flat

My first proper Download (went to the Pilot)

Fri - Those Damn Crows > Urne > The Struts > The Callous Daoboys > All Them Witches > Soft Play > Speed > Bayside > Royal Blood > Heilung > Health or Busted > Queens of the Stone Age > Charlie Simpson

Sat - Heriot > Hot Wax or Wargasm > Alt Blk Era > The Hunna > Bleed From Within > Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes > Gel > Baby Metal > Noahfinnce > Tom Morello > The Offspring > Pantera > Fall Out Boy > Bowling For Soup

Sun - Cemetery Sun > Pest Control > Creeper > Pinkshift > Kerry King > Secret set > Bowing For Soup > Sum 41 > Limp Bizkit > The Used > Avenged Sevenfold

No idea who a few of these bands are but are either gaps in the schedule or been recommended.

What I will say is that with Sundau selling out, nothing can be questioned on A7X being big enough.

Not sure you can conclude that.  Lots of factors come into play such as how many day tickets did they sell before calling it sold out.  Maybe they only had a few thousand, maybe other bands were the attraction or maybe it now forces anyone who wants to go on the Sunday to buy a weekend ticket.  A7X headlining in 2014 was a natural step and they were great.  2018 they were ok but their star has definitely fallen in recent years.
