Couldn't see a thread, so thought I would start one with tickets going on sale this morning

Has anyone purhcased?

Have seen feedback from last year was that it didn't achieve the same heights that it used to before the hiatus

Fat Freddy's Drop are great, definitely getting tickets now I know the headliners are all worth seeing.

Glad to hear they've sorted compost toilets for next year, it was the only thing that really impacted the experience last year for me.

I quite like the lineup, tbf. I’m just going nowhere near it after the literal shit storm of last year…

1 of my favourite festivals, but it really let itself down last year

Poor organisation, Rubbish,  sh*t full toilets on the first afternoon! And didnt improve, blew the soundsystem up on the main stage, missing all the magic creativity.

Said we wouldn't do it again, but a freind has bullied us into it, tthey have been warned that friendship could end if it hasn't improved

I was really excited for it, as I think I remember friends raving about it when I was in college.

It just really fell off the mark. I remember the sound cutting off completely on the left side of the main stage on Sunday, just before this disco, jazz band was about to play. I felt so bad for them, they were just sort standing there, coming off, walking back on - eventually they couldn't play.

I saw their post on Reddit a few weeks after, absolutely fuming, members from around the world traveling to there, countless hours of practicing thrown away.

I didn't get a ticket this year, but hope it has improved. The bits I liked were good, definitely a good vibe - just the bad bits outweighed everything.

 

Edit: I don't mind the edgy responses, you know 'the I don't care' attitude, on their social pages, but they just didn't drop it, after what was clearly a poorly run festival. They did eventually, but really rubbish response to complaints.

Having an attitude of  ‘if you don’t like it find another festival’ is a bold statement when you’ve still got tickets for sale the day before the event.

Will see how it goes this year if they’ve improved or not

I had a few friends that used to rave about SGP. So we went last year, it was horrendous. Worst festival I’ve ever been to. I’m sure they’ll sort out a lot of the issues but out of principal I would never return and I’m sure others will have the same opinion.

Used to go for years and thought it was utter sh*t last year, totally souless.

I said that in the 5 years they were not running, other festivals surpassed SGP in terms of that vibe.

I went to the last one before the pause and was colossally unimpressed. The weather didn’t help but it just had a bit of a sh*tty vibe. My wife and her friends had all been going for years and had loved it in the past, but they felt that it had just been hollowed out. It was notable that there were still tickets available on the gate.

I don’t think that last year’s marketing helped either. The whole message seemed to be “you are lucky that we deem you cool and edgy enough to buy a ticket”. Then people got there and found it was a bit of a train wreck. 
 

Suspect that they will return to their core business of putting on Apres Ski parties for City Boys (and girls).

SGP really pulled it out the bag this year. Serious return to form, pure magical weekend. Not a single complaint, compost toilets were excellent, music was on point, performances and experiences were top class. Exclellent vibes all round. Hoping they return for abother year as they undersold tickets due to the issues last year.

I didnt go but from what I have seen, the drone/firework display on the Saturday looked amazing.
