How did you even pull that from my comment lmao!

So it peaked a short time after Dua Lipa had success in a duet with Miley Cyrus with Prisoner from an album released late November. Also just after Dua Lipa re-issued her Moonlight edition and mere 11 months after her original featuring that song, plus one original remix.

See I'm not interested mainly what numbers it hits in spotify, an app that costs £11 a month and upto £17 for 6 users. I'm interested in who didn't just race to buy her tickets at £60 a pop....and for a long time. It's probably one of the easiest arena tour tickets to have purchased in the last two years.

I can download a digital copy of an album cheaper to try and give it a go....doesn't mean I'm going to buy a concert ticket.

It didn’t by any measure ‘drop off quickly.’ You’re just frantically trying to shift the goalposts now and ignore the hugely relevant evidence (Spotify) that contradicts your stayement.

“It’s not that I dislike her music I just wish she’d stop flashing her underwear” is Classic Misogyny 101, what are you talking about

Isn't Classic Misogyny 101 "It's not that I dislike her music I just wish she'd flash her underwear a bit more"?

🤷‍♂️

Classic Efests response to anyone who dares criticise the sacred cow that is mainstream pop. You just need to call him a gammon and tell him to go back to listening to Oasis.

Ain't you the guy that called Lizzo a corporate backed celebrity who got famous off their industry connections with no proof the other day? I just know that if a female pop artist had the same parents that Slash does then you'd be shitting all over them being booked, but you were very vocally supportive of the GNR booking this year. Why is that?

I'm not ignoring spotify, I'm merely saying that the cost per month is a single cds worth and you can gain multiple music.

I could click on a band on there, play a few songs and not be interested, and I won't be the only one to do this. Hell, Spotify doesn't even cost for the basic and it will still play songs over.

What I'm not ignoring what you are is ticket sales which actually defines where an artist is. We can't just say covid because multiple artists tickets went on sale and flew out in the later 2021 period.

I don't dislike her, despite what her onstage antics and image she portrays is, but she 100% needed a bump and reigntion to sell those tickets.

Whether you believe that or not, I don't really care. Moving on as I've spent too long on this now.

Not quite sure what you're trying to imply about me but the fact you're using a hypothetical situation to support your argument says to me it's most likely a moot point.

I have said on here that while I'm not a fan of Dua Lipa or Olivia Rodrigo, that they would both be very strong headliner choices, just like I thought GNR were.

Agree, she’s going to go from a sold out arena tour to headlining Glastonbury instead

What arena's has she played / got planned to play?

Dua Lipa is a far stronger headliner than GNR and Olivia Rodrigo is clearly (well i thought anyway!) not a headliner yet, even with this album it will be probably more a '25 thing while it settles etc

Except for Wet Leg are absolutely dreadul!

I loved them at G22 but they need to move past their 'startled deer in headlights' phase sharpish. It makes sense given how fast they became big and it was quite endearing, but if it goes on any longer it'll just look like they can't quite cut it live.

I'd like to see Dua Lipa sell out her own stadium shows before you can say she is a far stronger headliner than GNR. Regardless of what a said opinion on them is, they are icons of their industry. I was a little surprised though how easy their crowd was to get into at Glastonbury, but they aren't a typical Glastonbury headliner and did feel at times like the wrong setting for them a little. I am basing this generally as a headliner though, not just Glastonbury where I do think she would get a bigger crowd. With the crowd that Glastonbury have attend now, pop acts will gets huge crowds there regardless of what they sell outside, purely based on you can see them without paying £60,70, 80 to.

They were never going to get a huge crowd as like you say they’re a bit of an unusual booking for Glastonbury. That’s part of what made it such a good one IMO. Even aside from their sales and them doing it in the middle of a stadium tour, the more variety at the top of the bill the better.

Yeah, I enjoyed it but it wasn't as good as I had hoped. Dave coming out certainly made it a moment for than something you felt you couldn't miss. I just about chose them because I can see Fatboy there every year but I don't due to that exact reason over someone else.

I did see him play the secret set at Green piece but it was a DJ set so none of his own stuff anyway. Then went to Blondie which was OK....better on their Other stage slot previously I thought where it wasn't such a huge field for them to play.
