Yeah hes limited regarding touring because of his convictions. Don't think he'll be allowed in the US again.

But last chance for the festival to get them I reckon.

So Dua, O-Rod and AC/DC it is.

It's not certain on the visa issues. He's been to Canada, which is as stringent and also rumours not physically up to it and Ang has made a coaches call.

Can't see DC doing Glasto. It's not Angus' style. You've got more chance of Fleetwood Mac.

They’re not just going to book Janelle Monáe, SZA and Rosalía even if that would be cool as f**k.

Well they would/have booked them. Just not as pyramid headliners!

Wasn't Metallica's style either. Or Dollys but Brian and Dolly had a good chat about Glasto on the life on the road tv show.

Lets not forget

AC/DC 'will play if Michael Eavis asks'

First of all, it was Lars Ulrich's style. He went as a punter a few times and he has equal say with Hetfield what Metallica do and was desperate to play, so if the offer was there, Metallica would play.

Brian, however has f**k ALL say what DC do, so that link text means sweet FA and it is NOT Angus' style. They won't be playing. He doesn't care for sentimentality, he has no regard for "occasion". Gigs that they play now will be few and far between and for a LOT of money.

So that’s a maybe then😊😉

Seriously, I’d expect a few stadium gigs so I’d hope for a Hampden or Bellahouston Park in Glasgow. Foos are doing that next year.

Thank for that. O-Rod sounds like an absolute nightmare musically. Whereas Dua sounds interesting.

I agree. O-Rod reminds me a bit of Taylor. All heartache and breakups. Not a fan, but can see she's getting there or there about for a headline slot.

If it was Dave/ORod/Dua tho, feel like that's too punty.

Been away for awhile so only read the last few but seriously?!? Olivia Rodrigo to headline ?!?

Maybe being late 20's she isn't on my Radar but was kinda shocked to see 61m million listeners on Spotify.

I dont know, she doesn't scream Headliner to me particular for us Brits.

Can see her Headlining Other or Subbing

I think your radar is broken if a 20 year old artist cant even reach somebody else within a decade age wise. So how did you feel about Billie headlining even though she truly had shown it was gonna happen anyway.

She is on the path to headline, but its not right now. Everyone is screaming for it to happen so that they can feel great about themselves that Emily is actually trying to get younger acts to top the lineup pretty much. Generally the glasto audience wants instant gratification if an artist does a good job on their performance and is on an upward trajectory. so the next album/tour for this one specific artist has to headline because there is nothing else for them to do. And supposedly the eavii have to feel like visionaries for booking such young headliners cause in 5 years if they become taylor swift then glasto got in early on them when you do the hindsight thing.

Hopefully she said no because Olivia has been adamant about not "skipping any steps" when it came to performing live and all that. Thats why its only arenas when there was potential for larger venues. Not like her team hasnt been fielding a ton of offers anyway. Why take the short cut when the festival circuit is always going to be there.

oh yeah, wont it feel amazing if O Rod did headline cause the fest would have its first headliner of asian descent? So much progress being made.

Let’s be real, this is Glasto. They have mainstream appeal to maintain. They’re not just going to book Janelle Monáe, SZA and Rosalía even if that would be cool as f**k.

Coachella has even more mainstream appeal and they take way more chances. And they also have to sell tickets, unlike glasto which is always sold out. Having not to worry about selling tickets and such is supposed to give you freedom when it comes to the lineup and you can set the tone and such for how you do things. Make the audience have to accept that theres a ton of other music out there and its going to be showcased on the big stage, so take it or leave it. If Emily wanted to do the 3 female headliner thing she def could but the shadow of michael is still right there and it has to be done a certain way still. If Emily was so pissed about having the 3 all while me headliners this year and needing to put Lizzo on the first line for the optics then she could do a 180. But she wont cause she feels the audience needs to be coddled.

Agree.

Glastonbury will sell out regardless, so are in the perfect position to "take risks".

Broaden their musical experience and if they're unhappy enough that they stop coming, then good. The demographic needs shaking up anyway.

The "old duffers", "landfill indie bands" and boring MOR nonsense can be seen easily and in comfort at loads of other events.

I actually completely agree. I really respect Boomtown for refusing to release the lineup because they want people to come for the experience and not because Gorillaz are there this year.

That’s not entirely true though is it. It sells out the way that it does based on previous lineups, bbc coverage and an overall sense of it being the ‘it’ event when it comes to festivals in the UK. It is as mainstream as mainstream can be.

If they suddenly changed the tone completely year on year, there is no guarantee it would continue to sell out as it currently does.

it wouldn't ... much of the coverage is of the bigger acts . A mix of up and coming , heritage etc works well just look at how busy some of the Avalon acts are ....

That only really lasted one year though before they climbed down.

This year, they announced the full lineup a few weeks ahead of the festival, and had announced Prodigy as main headliner earlier than that, in an attempt to shift the last few tickets.

My radar is fine. People dont listen to music based on age. If that was the case I would listen to Lil Pump who is closer to my age than O Rod...

Billie was a last minute swap no? She wasn't lined up to headline but because of Taylor dropping she was chosen to replace? Maybe accelerating her Headline spot

"Everyone is screaming for it to happen" - I went with 20 people last year. None of them are screaming for it. Dont get me wrong, hugely popular but I look at the last decade of headliners and she sticks out as a sore thumb.
