Liam has said he is doing a Definitely Maybe tour next year in "biblical venues" which I presume means Wembley, Etihad etc. Would he headline Glastonbury with a set like that?

They won't be rushing to book him solo - they are holding out for Oasis.

Many many better choices around atm

Back to headliners … who would you like ?

I've always been in favour of a mix of contemporary, popular and legendary. Based upon who might be active in 2024, I'd say that the combo of Dua Lipa, Depeche Mode and Madonna has a nice balance.

Coldplay have to be a decent alternative, if they can't make things work with Gahan & Gore. I understand the disappointment that would have for the regulars on here, but you have to think that they're still incredibly popular with the Pyramid crowd, and there'll always be a good number who've never seen them. There's no way GFL turn them away, if they don't have a viable alternative. Whether you like them or not, you can't deny that they've never put on a bad show on the Farm.

Dua has to be a lock, doesn't she? Not my thing per se, although I've seen her at Mad Cool and Primavera over the past few years, and it was a decent show. Very popular with the countless thousands in attendance. Her time has to be now.

With regards to Madonna, I suppose it has to be 2024 or bust, doesn't it? Let's see what the reaction to the first of the shows is like from next week. If she were booked, I feel like the run up would be a little like it was for Elton this year. Lots of concerns over the vocals but ultimately crushed it. Personally, I think if she plays the hits in their original format, it has the potential to be as big as Reg.

So yeah, nothing ground breaking from me. Quite an obvious trio, really. And if Dua was Friday, Madge was on Saturday, leaving the Mode for Sunday, I'd be delighted.

Springsteen has just announced his rescheduled USA dates that are not going ahead this year.

Quite a gap between April and August dates which would likely mean another European Tour.

Maybe a final Glastonbury appearance?

Swap out Dua Lipa for Olivia Rodrigo and that will do me 🙂

Eminem (with Dre and Snoop)

I used to be firmly amongst the "Glastonbury would never book Eminem" crowd, but I've softened on that recently. I think the festival would book him if he became available, and bringing a few friends along would be fun. And in 2024 it'll be 25 years since he first broke through into the mainstream (that's a crazy thought), so there'll be a big crowd, full of people who would have grown up listening to him. It's a yes from me.
