2024 Headliners

I think if they are booking Fender and Swift as an aim for 2025 then they'll try and get something not guitar based for the 3rd slot.

With Coldplay having toured for as long as they will have, if Glastonbury don't get them on the first year of a fresh album it won't be as unique doing it the same year as a bunch of stadiums.

I think it will be Coldplay in 24 but I also think they’re more than enough of a pop act these days for that combination to work

Probably correct. For me, not even they are going to be the choice after starting MOTS tour in May 21, huge UK tour 22, more 23 UK stadium dates, bring out a new album, don't play it on it's first year but play it on a second year with another stadium tour to sell at the same time. That's potentially 2 huge stadium tours and another stint of 4 Cardiff and 4 Manchester dates before they even get to Glastonbury. Play next year, anyone who wasn't at Glastonbury is still going to go 25. I think Glastonbury will be a bit of a one of UK thing too.

2011 they did Glastonbury and TITP are UK major dates only and I see similar this time with maybe Hampden Park being included alongside.

For me, the only way I could probably better for what Glastonbury book would be by having Taylor, Coldplay and Madonna.

I've always been an advocate of seeing the Chems get a Pyramid headline slot. I know there'd be the obvious kickback on that but a thirty year back catalogue of bangers + those visuals in that field would be incredible. Not happening though, I get it.

I would love this too!! I think I read somewhere that they might have been offered it before but preferred the “infinite horrizon” of the Other Stage (or something vaguely like that.. don’t quote me on it). Imagine if they put on a bespoke show that was designed for the Pyramid field?  It would be legendary.

They have headlined the Pyramid. It was Ok, not legendary though. I remember it being loud.

No chance. Coldplay bring a spectacle with them. Sheeran brings f**k all. Plus his music has got noticeably more naff and in to basic mum-pop as he’s gone on. I just don’t think he’d be high on their list of returning acts given what he brings to the table.

Like the Eavii care? A safe, big name headliner that will draw a large crowd is ok with them. Why else would Coldplay keep getting it other than the fact they dont ask for money.

How likely are we thinking Madonna is now? I haven’t been keeping up to date with this thread!

I think right now we’re sceptical.. her tour ends two months before Glasto and doesn’t include a single outdoor/festival style set. It seems unlikely she will sit around for two months and then try and transfer her production for Glastonbury, which wouldn’t pay her well.

If she announces other festivals or outdoor gigs then it would be game on.

So they did. In 2000. Didn't realise that! Can't think if that would make them more or less likely to do it again. In the battle of the resident acts, I'd rather they got the nod over Coldplay on the Pyramid.

Dua, Chemical Brothers, Madonna. There you go.

I know, not happening. Although, I would say that they're much more accomplished than they were 23 years ago.

Pretty sure I’ve seen a similar article at least once for the last five or so years, two new albums included, so we shall see. Might shake up the Madonna talk, but could also be something to look at for ‘25 depending on the timeline of her comeback.

2025 if anything for me, of Taylor still says no.

I've never even thought about the gap problem. She wouldn't be able to bring her production to Glastonbury so why make the effort of all the dancers etc too.

I think a lot will come down to if she wants to tick it off and do it then she will come over for it similar to what U2 did.

Had a tidy out yesterday, stumbled upon some old ticket stubs...

I reckon she'll be on the farm next year
