Nonsense

It's a Nick Cave song

I mean, the clip literally starts with Alex Turner saying it's a Nick Cave cover. But given I was 15/16 at the time, I'm allowing myself a degree of leniency for ignorance given I wasn't as musically versed as I am now.

Might go and chuck a tenner on Nick to headline. Should make them fourth favourites they way the odds work.

Then Emily sees.

Then Emily DOES.

My kind of logic.

Absolutely incredible set list that! Every single song is gold!! (But stripped back piano version of The Mercy Seat, please).

If you were to suggest a few albums of Nick Cave's, what would they be? I tried to start from the beginning a while back (already knew a handful of tracks), but really could not get into it at all. Willing to revisit.

Skeleton Tree is my favourite, and in my opinion one of the greatest albums of all time.

Push the Sky Away in second place, the top 5 rounded off with No More Shall We Part, Ghosteen and Dig, Lazarus, Dig!!!

He is a rare artist whose work has got better and better with age, but also has 15 albums that could be considered seminal in their own right, depending on your tastes

And that's not including masterpieces like this from his Birthday Party days

I’m enjoying the upsurge in chat about Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds. They are an absolute force live, and have so many great albums. I was late to them: Abattoir Blues/The Lyre of Orpheus got me started and I think is a perfect place to start. Every album since has also been a masterpiece, and a good few before were too.
I hope they get the big gig one day.

There isn't even a release date for the new album, but one assumes it'll be after his solo tour of Oz which winds up in May. So even if he was the right size the timing wouldn't stack up.

Release date: Whenever they play.

Whole album start to finish.

Not sure many bands could risk this, but they actually could. Nothing to lose in a headline slot, so just play eighty minutes of the new record, add a couple of solo tracks in and encore with a surprise cover of Boogie Wonderland where Warren Ellis plays two violins at once.

If the Dailymail run a Nick Cave story..

You guys have to take the blame for that

Even the Mail aren't going to be crazy enough to think there's any possibility of Nick Cave headlining Glastonbury.

And that's the paper that reported Girls Aloud were doing the Legends Slot this year.

I have more info...

29/6 Sza

14/7 Stray kids

Stray Kids show now announced for BST on 14th July.

So for my money, the other info (specifically - Stevie Wonder doing BST on Glastonbury Friday) should be taken seriously.
