2024 Headliners

It is funny how people are defensive about Reddit and Discord providing reliable information, when these websites are actually filled with either conspiration theories or at best innocent teenage conversations like those chat rooms I used to visit in the mid 90s. There might be reliable info out there, but it is far from obvious! The idea that we might offend/scare the leakers if we don't believe them is quite ridiculous!

Now the Stevie Wonder rumour is perhaps the only thing that makes sense since someone correctly predicted the BST lineup. I have no idea why people think Madonna dropped out. That makes no sense at all and I don't understand where this comes from.

The only thing that is clear is that most headliners should be semi-obvious by now since all other festivals have announced. So we're likely to get the same headliners as other big events in June/July such as BST, Werchter or Roskilde. In other words Dua Lipa, SZA and Kings of Leon, and/or touring stadium bands that have a gap and did not play last year, such as like Coldplay. Everyone else is like 10 times less likely.

What stage PJ Harvey is going to play? Does it make sense for her to sub SZA? And Pulp subbing for Dua Lipa?

go and look at roughbloke or brave sir robins posts on this forum, years of correct info. It’s the same people ffs. The info is good

I actually can’t comprehend that people could be so daft to not think there are reliable people in the know who give info. It’s a festival forum ffs, most people are on here to try find out who’s playing before it’s announced.

Just wait for the lineup instead of being snide on here if you don’t believe the info lol

One more time, it seems! You may be correct, but for most of us, it is just more anonymous internet information, and you have to admit it doesn't help for that information to be buried in 511 pages, with an equal amount of people saying "Madonna is a lock" for no reason at all.

Of course people like the rumours! No one is saying they're a load of rubbish. But that is all they are... rumours. Some turn out to be true, have a medal.

The issue is people saying "its locked, because so an so said" when in a lot of cases this year, it clearly wasn't lol.

The FACT here, is that the rumours have been changing constantly. And anyone who questioned and said "not sure about this Stevie thing...it's completely out of the blue and can't see it happening" was shot down because of the holy information. Low and behold...the lesson is, the holy info is not always "locked" and that's why its been fun to take the mick out of it and have a JOKE and continue speculation. No need to take things personally. Not everyone here (me included) knows about this random history of the battle of the glasto forums. Lots of us here weren't around and weren't involved and we dont know these people and we don't care about this random forum rivalry. Doesn't matter whether the source posted here or anywhere, Stevie obviously wasn't locked. But it was a fun wild rumour that would have been great if it came to pass. Let's move on

Does SZA favour that particular piecemeal approach to live performances by the way? The pop and hip-hop type where you get ninety seconds of one track before you whizz onto the next, with a break every five minutes to admire the crowd screaming? 

Saw her setlist was 35 songs in 105 minutes. That's either some serious motoring or a big snippet megamix.

But dua and Coldplay have been the only ones considered locks and they still are. Third one never has been.

Because the behind the scenes situation changes - Stevie was definitely in the picture in the same way Prince was a few years ago. Also - some info comes with a mountain of salt, some comes at a high level of certainty. It depends on the source - or if it comes from multiple sources.

Also - stuff like Dua/ Coldplay gets posted with a likelihood of 90%. Stevie is a fun rumour, but it's just a name in the ring.

As previously said, nothing is running late - we don’t usually have a poster by this date. 

The only thing that’s a mess is outside speculation! 

In most years by early March we’ve had one or two headliners, the legend and maybe a smattering of other acts.

To go this long with complete radio silence from the festival with regards to the lineup is unusual by recent standards.
