Rumblestripe
I mentioned this festival in my note about Bearded Theory and then discovered that this little festival did not have a thread of its own. For shame. Oddly they have announced most of the line-up already and if this mix of bands chuffs your chuffer, then I can recommend it with the proviso that it is very early in the year for visiting "under canvas" and as I'm local I shall be attending on a daily basis alternating driving duties with chums. I think it's a cracking line-up. Tickets are currently just shy of £90 for weekend non-camping. The stages are all in tents so even if wet it won't dampen your experience. Done this festival a couple of times including its previous location in Weardale and it is pretty relaxed and decent beer and food at reasonable (festival) prices. Memory Man
Those dates and in the northeast of england for a camping festival is pretty optimistic! Imagine it could be very cold overnight. If all stages are tents thats pretty good though
Rumblestripe
Gutted to be missing this as I went down with COVID earlier this week. I've been offered the option to roll my tickets over to next year and I've taken that. Mates are there and it isn't going well. The site is a mud bath. It has been a very wet spring in the North East and I think they've been caught out. Cars were having to be towed onto the site yesterday and as many are doing what I was intending to (drive there each day) it is not working. People reporting stationary in traffic near the site for hours or having given up and turned around and the music should have started at 12. My mates are in a caravan and they got there on Thursday and seem to be OK, spoke to them this morning. Other mates were going to be driving home kipped down in the caravan with them. Toilets have not been emptied and the site even inside the tents is very uneven with people falling into unseen troughs and holes! People are doing the festival thing and helping each other which is good to hear. Oh I should say that mates report the music last night was excellent. Tull played a great set with Ian Anderson on great form even though his voice is not what it was.
