Given the info I’ve been given over the last few months we would have 6 pyramid headliners … so no idea how it all works out in the end

There are always TBCs and (many many) SRs which appear and then disappear over the months building up.  It's not actually the lineup until the lineup is announced - and even then a few more drop out.  I've started listening to AM and GNR a bit, but if they drop off the lineup that's all part of the process.

If you discount U2 and if the Foo Fighters show up it probably won't be in a headline slot - so who's the missing 6th name? 🧐

Honestly David, the moment someone comes along who can do all this with a few connections. Be ideal if someone who actually gets info was up for it,  then this forum will die on it's arse.

I’m not sure it’s pedantry. Neil told us all just the other day GnR (and AM) are headlining and changed them to TBC. Today he has rowed back on his own confirmation and claimed he doesn’t know why they were TBC and suggested other names are now in the frame.

So it’s more confusion than pedantry.

Confusion should be the general impression though.  AM & GnR still showing as TBC as far as I can see - Neil's heard stuff that suggests that they'll play, and that backs up what other posters on here had already said.  Lots of stuff under the bridge between those two events, fine, but he he and others are going to hear other things over the coming months.  There will be updates, do not rely on anything being fixed other than Elton (ignoring personal preferences and gripes for the other TBCs), and even he's not a guarantee.

But if the "info" you're getting is demonstrably false then it's next to worthless.

I could say I've had "info" that Ocean Colour Scene are doing a three night headlining residency, doesn't make it true.

@roughbloke how confident are you in your sources? Neil seemed sure but is now backtracking on being TBC-level confident.

If Neil isn’t as confident now, that leaves only you (given a GSH is not a solid enough reason to predict a headliner).

No it’s info that can be thrown into the mix … just like any other info from any other user … the whole point of a speculation thread … it would be a short thread if the first post was the lineup poster !!  I’ve not had info before but this time I’ve had some so shared it here

For some reason fun exited this thread long ago and that’s a shame because this should be part of the hype. Some killjoys here seem furiously determined to defend a trio of whom only one has been announced.

In my defence, I've never actually said U2 were playing, just highlighted that it was odd that I had been told out of the blue that they were, mere hours before @Willy-wam-wam-wozzle posted in here saying they had had definite info

I replied to the person who told me that I really didn't see U2 headlining as we're probably locked, as below

Am I missing something though?  Lineup page does still say TBC next to GnR & AM, as far as I can make out the change is to Lizzo & Lewis...
