The documentary is great but does Damon seem a little… ‘broken’? Not sure that’s the right word but just feels like he could do with some support. The line about middle-aged men not talking about their feelings seemed revealing.

At the time of recording the last album he had just split up with his partner of 25 years -  (gives a new emotion to songs like The Heights but echo through the whole album).

They all opened up to their issues that’s for sure. The unexpected shot of Damon crying was a shocking moment. Overall it’s prompted me to explore their music again, particularly the 13 and self-titled albums which I always rated.

they are my favourite two -  I havent managed to catch the documentary yet though I need to catch it -

Must admit To the End left me a little cold, which was a shame. May need to give it another go in a few months.

I liked it, the 4 of them came across as massive knob heads but they knew were and were comfortable with the fact.

 

Would love to see them, was meant to see them at primavera in Madrid but that night got cancelled due to rain

Haven't watched Made of Stone since it came out, but doesn't it largely not show any of the actual performances as a way of skirting round Ian Brown's notorious ropieness?

Haha. There's a few in there - Warrington, Heaton Park, snippets from Europe + rehearsals.

 

I thought that was more than enough tbh, it worked perfectly. It was very well made/executed.
