I miss the original Mr Toastie caravan stall tat used to be near the meeting point. I went there so much that one of the staff recognised me the -Next Festival- when i went for my usual cheese and onion 🙂

The current generic van nearer the entrance to the kidz field is ok, but lacks something. But as I caravan it these days, it's generally the last food I grab before heading to bed, so it'll have to do.

the other 'toastie' venues on site do not deserve recognition.

There’s a great one inbetween cinemaggedon and the park

Glad to hear this in that I had a toastie last year and wasnt impressed. Couldn't say why though ... Probably not enough cheese (by which I mean an industrial amount!)

I remember that place. Was a regular stop last thing on the way back to camp.

Slightly related, in T&C field at the top corner there used to be a french toast place that did think cut eggy bread that was great for late night pissed up snackage.  Did a cinnamon sugar one which was great and witha strong coffee made a top brekky too.  Don't think I went there last year but hope it's still there now I've remembered.

Crumble shack are back I’m told … need to try that out this year …. And make sure my blood sugars don’t sky rocket after

This is the kind of thing I sometimes have late on after main stages shut when I might start flagging. Along with a large coffee topped up with a load of Drambuie (aka ‘barman’s crack’ as the sugar wakes you up).  Sets you up for the next 6-8 hours.

This is all true - though in all honesty I'd be genuinely stunned if they still do the breakfast sandwich for £5 going forward.

At that price it'd have been good value for money even in the "real world", and given how much costs have risen over the past year I reckon that to keep selling it for a fiver in 2023 would mean they lost money on it.

I'm budgeting on just about every food item on site rising by about 2-3 quid this year including that.

Prices have risen in the last 12 months but not 40%. If they go up that much we are being taken for a ride.

How about the Hari Krishna tent? Are they still about? I've had to offset the cost of a ticket some years by going there and eating their stew a few times over the weekend. They're super friendly too. Last time I was there, think they were in somewhere around here last time I visited:

Been there every year I have been. I always give them a healthy donation as I am not so skint as to need free food.

Judging by wide awake festival on the weekend you are looking at £12/13 per full adult meal (ie to be full)

expensive but not unexpected.

very good fish burgers were 10/11 each and fries a fiver shared between 2 (Crabbieshack, highly recommended but dunno if theyre at glastonbury)

some veggie places might do stuff for a bit less but i think the above is a sensible guide. It wont be under a tenner anyway.

That's really good. Breakfast for me would be 2 sausages, bacon, egg, beans and hashbrown with coffee all for £7 👍

Let’s not forget that they are a charity and their prices will reflect the fact that they are unlikely to be paying the pitch fees of a non charity trader.

Plus, they were founded by Arabella Churchill and occupy the old Glastonbury Festival offices in Glastonbury Town.

So the more I spend the more goes to charity? If that's the case I'll add extra eggs and round it up to a tenner

There was a stall called 'Bagel Dude' who used to trade in what's now called the Williams Green/Car Henge area from about 2007ish-2011 ish.  I used to have a massive filled bagel and a coffee each morning to sort me out.

They got shunted to somewhere near the park in 2013 and were not happy about it either then they disappeared completely.  Such a shame. 😞

So who do folk think does the best jerk onsite?

Was the place in Williams Green there last year? Their under the counter sauces make them the Jerk GOAT.

Theres one beside Bread and Roses too. And one which is apparently jerk but its deep fried and comes with gravy.
