No problems with you not liking them / wanting them to play from me, but the above read like you are fully expecting that they will actually play?

Seems quite likely to me right now.

Glastonbury has had Spinal Tap I think.

Yes, either '07 or '09. Seem to remember it being a Sunday afternoon at the Pyramid.

On reflection it must have been '09. I don't recall the weather being as bad as it was in '07.

People know about 2 Kiss songs. Would be a disaster.

Thought they were great when I saw them but it was a Kiss gig.

Yeah - there big numbers may be radio staples in the US, but over here they have very little resonance.

Inclined to agree with both of these points, but isn't there an element of this with many headliners?  I mean how many of the Metallica crowd could say they knew more than 2 - 3 songs?  To many Glastonbury is your opportunity to experience an act that you maybe wouldn't normally pay good money to see, and if said act is known for a 'show' or has a USP then even more so.

KISS have that draw to rely upon....but I do also think that they'd struggle to hold the crowd for the full set and it ultimately wouldn't be regarded as a great booking.

All this talk of people only knowing 2-3 songs but surely most people will listen to headline acts they know they are going to see before going to a festival? Particularly if they only know a few songs

I have no sympathy for anyone who complains after seeing an act saying that they only knew a few songs but didn't make the effort to listen to said act beforehand.

I Was Made For Lovin’ You

Crazy Crazy Nights

At a push…

Rock N Roll all Nite

Their cover of God Gave Rock and Roll to You

Thing is it’s all about the blood, the fire, the zip line and the pyro. Not sure how much of that they’d get in a non-headline day time slot.

As the old saying goes: If KISS plays in the daylight without any pyro… do they even make a sound?

Speaking as a fan, they have some really great songs but also an awful lot of guff. I don't think anyone watches them for their artistic integrity or deep and meaningful lyrics, stick 'em in the rock slot for an hour and give us:

Detroit Rock City
Shout It Out Loud
Heaven's on Fire
Cold Gin
Lick It Up
God of Thunder
Hard Luck Woman
Love Gun
I Was Made for Lovin' You
Black Diamond
Beth
Rock and Roll All Nite

Yeah, bangers.

But out of that lot, Joe Deckchair would know I Was Made for Lovin' You and Rock and Roll All Nite? Maybe Shout It Out Loud?

Joe Deckchair should have put on a greatest hits playlist before arriving if it will be an issue for them that they don't know a lot of the songs

It is a ridiculous standard for an act that everyone in the audience needs to recognise most of the songs they play but the audience has not made an active attempt to do so.

People where complaining that they didn't know enough McCartney/Beatles songs during the first hour of his set. That's mostly on them, not McCartney

Ironically, I Was Made For Loving You is one of their worst songs but probably their best known in the UK (that or Crazy Nights).

One of the most overrated awful bands ever to walk the planet. Utter pathetic joke that tired 30 years ago.

Who actually still finds that fucking makeup funny? Shit songs and the singer is a complete knob.

Simple rightwing Americans love them though.

Each to their own.

Spot on, absolute joke of a band.

No chance they would headline Glastonbury, or have more chance of playing than Guns n Roses.
