how to get beer from taxi to tent

hopefully flying in to Bristol, plan is to get taxi and get supplies(beer) on route, is it realistic to think that we might be able to buy a decent trolley/sack truck on the way to carry the beer from the taxi to the tent or are we going to have to carry slabs of beer miles and miles??

Looks like Wells has a Waitrose, you could see if John Lewis sells trolleys and do a click and collect?

There might be other click and collect places on the way as well?

The starting consideration is how much space will be available in the taxi? Or flipping it around, how big a taxi will we need to accommodate yourselves, your gear and a trolley? Each year we been in a large family car we've had to put part of the back seat down to accommodate the trolley and our gear.

Agreed. In addition, doesn’t a taxi only get you to a drop off point where you then have to get on a shuttle bus that may not allow trolleys? (See here: https://www.glastonburyfestivals.co.uk/information/getting-here/2592-2/ )

Presumably if they're arriving via plane there won't be so much luggage to not have space for booze and a trolley?  Alternative to the waitrose idea above, if your taxi goes via a sainsbury's instead you can usually collect from Argos in many of their stores - whichever option though, make sure it's a decent trolley (e.g. bigger wheels), or you won't get very far dragging your booze / it'll fall apart!  You'd also be buying something for which you will have no need after the festival - so please have a think what you're going to do with it afterwards (someone should be happy to take it off your hands).

Jam a dozen cases or so in the boot. Offer a stranger two cans for a case - you carry a case, I'll give you two cans. Need to find 12 people from 200,000 to do it. Job done.

Not all trolleys will fit in a saloon  car boot, especially those with larger wheels. We can only accommodate our trolley having half of back seat down and running it through from the boot.

Actually, that's a fair point thinking about what we need to do with ours. 

I guess if the taxi journey was starting at the airport you could be selective about which one you got into (presumably most vans would be okay), or if pre-organising try use a company that you have an idea of what kind of vehicle you'd be getting. 

That or @Redacted's idea above actually might work - you'd just need to shepherd the 12 lucky people to your camping spot, good laugh trying.

I use a sports direct bag + wrap the handles together with bubble wrap and gaffer tape for comfort on the hands. Fits a 24 slab nicely.

I'm no longer a drinker, but that's exactly what I used to do. Mind you it once nearly ended in disaster.
