Yeah but at best he can only showcase a very chilled out sunset vibe (granted at sunset) with maybe 2 or 3 bangers thrown in.

Ive said it all along, his own stuff is far too chilled out to capture an Other Stage crowd just before a headliner.

I want to party, not chill, maybe a 16:00 set would suit better for his own stuff.

Only time will tell what he’s gonna do.

Have you seen his Boiler Room set? Surely you don’t think that set is chilled?!

I have indeed, looked a good vibe, a much much smaller venue, inside, not with the sun still up and only just going down towards the end of the set. You need to take all these factors into account i'm afraid.

i dont think you are much of a fred fan if you think those aint bangers , maybe its just not for you 🙂 seen him live many times and all those songs get a massive reaction!  as you will see on the friday . a massive majority of those who turn up to see him will know all those songs, think you are underestimating how big he is and how well known those songs are.

I think you must have missed most of my earlier posts on this thread, where I have more than once said what a talented chap he is, defended the fact that he came from a background with money (because to me I couldn't care less if you start with £1 or      £1, 000,000) I absolutley love him in the PHM sets but I do not feel he is going to smash the Other Stage, with the sun still up, with only a few bangers.

My opinion, long held, come at me internet 🤣

What I have done is promised my little boy I will try to get to the front for his set though so he can try and spot me on TV lol (I know)

I agree, his sets go off live! He’s got so many songs to choose from now. There’s no way he’s playing anything from Secret Life, but if he did he would make it work somehow. But I kind of like that people are sceptical/don’t have high hopes, they’re in for a treat.

Time will tell of course, but I think he'll smash it.

Thats not what he does during his own show though.

clearly nobody noticed what the mc said at the beginning of his boiler room set. "Coachella. Smashed it". He played at golden hour with the sun coming through the tent and everyone was losing their minds to that set. So to say he cant do anything worth a damn with the sun out has zero clue of what to expect. If he does the set he has been doing the last 18 months itll all work itself out. If you guys just expect it to be some glorified dj set with the hopes skrillex or four tet pop up then you surely need to change your expectations.

I'm aware of his differing styles, I was alluding to the fact his songs aren't all "chilled" and gave the BR set as an example. He'll play a lot of them when he plays The Other stage.

I only have his APE set to go off - and it did go off.

And it was daylight.

Just to be sure, it is going to go off, right? Lol.

Doubt he's gonna rock up and do anything chilled, think he knows what Glasto is all about and what the people are expecting.

Fred is one of the sets I'm looking forward to the most. Followed by Hot Chip, then whatever's on at Silver Hayes. It's gonna be glorious.

Seen him at his own shows and a couple festivals - both before he took the world by storm, shadow the comments of everyone else, even then the tunes were going off, and that was before the majority of Actual Life 3 was released and Rumble/Lights Out/Jungle/Turn On The Lights Again/Baby Again.. etc. No doubt Glastonbury will be a huge party.

Pretty sure that Rumble is mainly Skrilex’s influence, Turn on the lights is SHM and Baby again is Skrillex, Fred and Four Tet?

All good tunes though I will give you that.

Yeah, but Fred's credited on all of them, and plays them frequently in his sets now. Point was, the show was still great and got the audience going, even before some of those big hitters and what are now crowd favourites.

I saw Fred Again.. at Primavera last year and he was absolutely sensational. His own stuff isn't too chilled for Other sub, it's absolutely perfect for it. If anything, I'd rather he skipped the more generic collaborations he's released with Skrillex etc. since.

Don’t personally think anyone else will be too majorly involved with his Other set. Fully expect to see him turn up elsewhere across the weekend though. When you think of the amount of pals he’s collaborated with recently who are playing:

Haai, Romy, Four Tet, I.Jordan, Joy Anonymous, Mike Skinner, Dermot Kennedy, The Blessed Madonna…

Theres TBAs either side of Haai B2B I.Jordan in Temple on sat night 👀

As a DJ its far more likely they'd come out with him to sing than he would to press some buttons while they sing imo (and he's in the bigger slot)

He'll defo be about though, just coming out with say Dermot Kennedy makes 0 sense
