Nope but I came here hoping to find some - new format apparently

Far from confident on this, and could be a million miles off, but there's a (albeit tenuous) reason to believe that it's at Victoria Warehouse in Manchester this year.

Specifically - I say that because the code for the 2023 website contains this:

So either they've used a template from 2014 and not updated the location, or it's Manchester.

Or they're fucking with people like me who look at stuff like that.

It's been Manchester before i believe. Thinking Scotland, Leeds/Sheffield or Midlands.

Victoria Warehouse is dreadful but there's a big BBC employee base in Manchester now, particularly for radio, so this would make sense if they're looking to keep the budgets fairly low for it.

Not only has Manchester already had it, but it was held at Victoria Warehouse. Would be really surprised if it’s there again.

Arlo Parks, surely?

Their tweets suggest Victoria Warehouse is now going to be the festival's permanent home. So much for following the Radio 1 and 2 ideal of spreading its events around the country.

Arlo Parks is nowhere near as big as Loyle Carner / Christine i'd say

I'd have said she's just as big as at least Carner by practically any metric. More to the exact point all three nights are listed as two acts plus DJ.

Looking back over the years, the  festival has steadily declined and this line up is just so unremarkable if that’s our lot. Depeche Mode also very much an exception in terms of size. Very disappointing.

loyle carner is subbing reading, arlo is headlining the great escape. He's far bigger

Feels a bit soft. Not necessarily a poor selection but think there'd be a hope for a few more.

They're squeezing presenter salaries and they're also squeezing budgets, including 6music itself - hence why more presenters and shows than ever are in Salford. 

I've seen plenty of folks online bleating about the big show the beeb put on for Glastonbury and I'm sure theres huge cost pressure for the 6music festival - either trim it or don't have one, so tbh anything they do to support artists (especially those up and coming ones) and venues is better than nowt.
