imo would look like they are shoving a female in for the sake of it, nobody is forced to see GNR but they are definitely a bigger booking. Just frees up a headline slot for me anyway

True, I'm just not sure how well the "pipeline" comments wash when you have an opportunity to elevate female artists - Glastonbury is part of the pipeline. When they're choosing an act like GNR over a smaller, but current (arguably more exciting) female artist, I think they create their own problems.

In terms of the obvious omissions:

QOTSA - I suspect they're playing but have just been left off this drop. The festival knows that there is going to be backlash in terms of gender and having both GnR AND QOTSA on the poster only inflames further.

Pulp - Still expect them to be there in some capacity, I'm holding out for Friday sub.

Prodigy - There had been talk that they had been D@bbed down, that Germany date was the final nail in the coffin.

Wet Leg - Really surprised not to see them on the poster given how popular they currently are and them being mostly female. Would be a shock if they weren't playing at all.

Not the best for me but there's a lot more to come and I wasn't expecting much given the quality of lineups elsewhere.

Super excited for Lana, Phoenix, Lizzo, Rina and Weyes Blood. I always seems to miss Hot Chip at Glastonbury so hope to see them too 🙂

Seems from this like there was a slight miscommunication to this source and Wizkid is headlining WH and Fred Again/CHVRCHES are doing Other. Would make a lot more sense.
