Between Pyramid and Other, as the masses headed towards Arcadia/West of site. That was crowd control management issue

Sorry pedantic mode, corrected it for you, there is a difference.

Seemed like there was a lot less security last year with stewards filling in some gaps - on the entrance to the SEC for example. (Cost saving I guess?)

There was definitely security on the entrance to SEC, the company doing it was FGH and I knew the management team covering that point, there would have been both SIA and stewards there.

I wouldn’t make generalisations like that.

There are plenty of children who are more “adult” than quite a few people I know.

Should we let ten-year-olds vote, drink and fuck then?

I'm happy to discuss the rule change and if or why the SE corner is or isn't a good idea for younger children. But this "oh it's Glastonbury, kids should be treated the same as the adults" is utterly bizarre and nonsensical. Do people also get upset that their kids can't get served at the Cider Bus?

Fair enough - the security was a lot less visible though. Maybe a PR exercise then, add in Oxfam stewards to be happy clappy while the real security do the hard yards? 🤔

I'd love Oxfam to do within festival stuff, sadly it's all on the gates etc on the edges of the site.

I guess they weren't Oxfam then - who does fire stewards?

Anyway, they were some kind of stewards with tabards! 😂

Pink high Viz? Recruited by local schools and community groups round the south west.

😂 The fact I can remember they were there at all is miracle- let alone what colour high viz they were wearing!

I don't want kids in the SE corner late at night as it'll potentially get in the way of my enjoyment if I'm entirely honest.  Not judging the parents. Some places just aren't suitable for children in my opinion. I know Glastonbury peace and love and all that but your kids aren't the most important things in the world, soz.

Hello IceCreamVan,

Do you know what?

(1) I do believe that I was right off my rocker when I wrote that. That said (and I haven't read most of the replies since) they'll be those OK with it, and those not. I do recall feeling sad when I once saw a couple pushing a pram somewhere at the festival, late at night, in muddy'ish conditions. However, I wasn't looking at it through their eyes. I'm still not sure those people should be viewed as complete weapons - which is a description which is now in my own head only i.e. I haven't read the further posts to the degree to rule out that kind of stance having been taken. Fucking hell - I can bang on when I've had a smoke!

(2) I once posted on here about an incident with an ice cream van man at Glastonbury. It's too long for me to write now, and I am incapable of searching on here for anything i.e. not just the shit I write, but subjects etc. I am as daft as a brush on the IT front. It's hereditary, I think. I once witnessed my mom and dad nearly have joint mental breakdowns trying to use a cashpoint machine. Witnessing that nearly gave me an brain aneurysm!*

(3) Can I have a Lemonade Sparkle and a Cider Pop, please!?

* - Oh how we could have laughed on the way to the A & E unit. Lost chances, lost opportunities!

(4) The photos are of a model ice cream van (and other vehicles) of a prototype 'thingy' that I made one early morning a fair while ago.

(5) That's it I have now exhausted the ice cream thing. I can feel it in my bones.

(6) Apart from - how much do I owe you for the two 'lollies'?
