Bath & West Showground exit/access

We're staying in our caravan at Bath & West this year, aiming to get there early afternoon on the Tuesday.

How easy will it be to drive out of the site on any of the days if we want to top up supplies (and get fuel for the trip home) at one of the supermarkets in Shepton Mallet or if we wanted to venture down to Stonehenge on the Wednesday?

Getting on and off site is no problem, it's straight off the main road, of course the main roads are likely to be getting busy so that will be the limiting factor, if you really need to go get stuff I would do it as soon as possible after you arrive on the Tuesday, shouldn't be too busy then. Other option is to get the bus into Shepton, there are regular buses from B&W.

Not really understanding why you'd need to go and get stuff* if you're bringing a caravan. Surely just bring enough stuff with you. Also there's a co-op on site. Just fill up shortly before arriving then you'll have enough fuel to either get home or to a fuel station.

* unless it's stuff not available in shops

This.

I basically carry the equivalent of the co-op in my caravan every year

* I only do stuff available in the shops

Both of these 😊

We stay on Bath & West but same - take everything we need for the week. Forgot bread last year and just grabbed it from a random garage before we got there.

The chances of needing something so early is highly unlikely, but there's always the chance!

Nah, it's just that there's always the chance that we'll forget something...or run out

How did you know you'd forgotten it before you arrived on site? lol

a benefit of being in East CV is wandering down the HoD in the morning to the bakers opposite the Kids Field for your breakfast rolls.. (assuming they are still there, i wasnt there last year)

As we got closer to B&W, I was thinking about a lovely cuppa and toast when we had got set up and remembered I hadn’t got the bread out the freezer ! 🤣 Thankfully a garage appeared and I was saved !
