Thursday Coach Questions

Hey all,

So for the first time, i'll be getting the coach this year on the Thursday. Just me and my girlfriend are going this year and I honestly cannot wait for her to experience it! (first timer)

I do have a few questions:

- Past few years especially, i've always taken a trolley to wheel in any tinnies to take in. What's the best method for the coach? I feel like carrying cans with my bags sounds like an absolute recipe for disaster so I may just stick to spirits in plastic bottles.

- Do you feel like you miss a special day of the festival by coming on the Thursday? The wednesday for me I really enjoy just to settle in, often spending my time either wondering around or in the craft village before the music starts. What is everybody's experience without that first day?

- Camping spots. I normally camp in Oxylers, but we were in Paines last year. Thinking would like to go either of those again for familiarly, what's it like getting a spot? We may get in contact with a few people who we know nearer the time to save us somewhere.

I've probably got more so will keep adding as more come to my head!

Hey

Spirits and buy mixers... Or get friends to take booze for you.

Can't answer about arriving on thurs v weds, but you have no choice so you'll make it what is!

You won't get a spot in Oxlyers or Paines on Thursday.  But there's plenty of space further out. If you get friends to save you a spot in Paines, you'll need them to take your tent.. I doubt a groundsheet would be enough tbh.

Enjoy!

You run a significant risk of the driver refusing to carry a trolley because of lack of luggage space, so take spirit's.

And as above, Oxylers, Paines Pennards will be full by Wednesday evening so you need to look at the fields further out on the western fringes.

Hi Mark, I've been to the festival 6 times and always got the Thursday coach before. I think the first time I didn't want to take too many days off work and then it became a habit. However, I always booked Worthy View, so didn't have to worry about finding a camping spot. This year though, I can't justify the extra expense of WV and have a much longer trip, so I will be arriving on Wednesday!

I never felt as if I was missing out on much by arriving Thursday. Usually I'd get set up in the tent by mid afternoon, have a few hours to explore  the site, then watch whatever acts I fancied at night. I did try to take it easy that night so I could get up fairly early on Friday and spend some time in the Green fields and theatre fields in the morning before the main musical acts started.

It's up to you, but I think you'll have a really great time anyway. Showing a newbie round for the first time is so much fun!
