That's about as tenuous as it gets haha

Not saying youre wrong. But him 100% being there and doing something secret with Pulp is less tenuous 😄

And yet - he will be there. And Pulp won't. I'd put money on it.

Because all precedent (which admittedly, only really amounts to 2011) suggests that if he was doing one, then he probably wouldn't also do the other. For someone who attends nearly every year on basically a "do something that's a bit of fun and get a free ticket" basis, this is the free ticket.

So a Pulp show added to that is just more preparation, concentration, and coordination. It basically becomes an extra "thing" that's not needed when the intention is to just enjoy the festival (which seemingly is the focus most years).

I thought Jarv did a dj set when Pulp played their secret set back when they last reformed. My wife loves Jarv and i'm sure she wanted to go to it.

Not a billed one, under his own name, at any rate. I checked that and couldn't see anything.

Wouldn't shock me if he did something unannounced / lower key though.

I could well be wrong, she's been with me a few times and my memory of what happened at which festival is a bit hazy.

I wouldn't be too shocked by that tbf. Especially as Jarvis said semi-recently they're planning to do 2025 shows.

Yeah. Though I thought they were a shoo-in for 2023 and then 2024 so who knows.

Active into 2025 (just) with Japan dates in January. Rumoured to be in the studio too which would seemingly put the last ever gig theory to bed. I'll repeat what I said in '23 and '24...they HAVE to be there.

No sooner do we think we're out, they keep pulling us back in.

Jarvis himself was there this year wasn't he, he DJ'd?  Can't remember where.  Which makes it look like Pulp have been held back for 2025.

Stonebridge - but he's always about so don't think it really has much relation.

Probably just want to do ££ shows before doing glasto

New songs being played live. Appear to be back in the studio.

I think next year is the year they will be back,  supporting a new album. They'll have a good slot but not pyramid headline.

Are they - what are they called can't seem to find them on setlist fm

So they did yes. Was back in March when Jarvis was doing an interview promoting a different project as far as I can recall.

They've played Background Noise a few times, but apparently they wrote it when they did We Love Life. They've also performed Hymn for the North twice, but that's a Jarvis song. Other than that, i don't think they have done anything else new on this tour.

I think pulp are nailed on ,30 anniversary etc etc plus 1995 was emilys favourite year so maybe a few more britop bands will make an appearance .

Maybe that's why some are hoping Oasis will reform and come straight in at the top. Even if I still don't think enough water's gone under the bridge between the two Gallaghers for us to be at that point.

We Love Life was what, 2001? So that's a proper deep cut to raid the archive for.

The idea of new material around for 2025 could make it a very interesting proposition tbf to have both the counterpoint of new stuff and the 30 year anniversary of Different Class, which I've declared before is imo one of the 90's best albums.
