Any sign of Pulp yet?

Pretty sure they're only scheduled for 90 minutes at Castlefield too. And only the one support.

Does feel a little stingy for 70 odd quid

I paid 45 quid for a day ticket for Neighbourhood. Castlefield is 15 mins away from me, just can't justify the price so giving it a swerve. Looks to be sold out now.

That's a hell of a bargain for a day ticket.

I wouldn't normally pay anywhere near what I've paid for this but as a one off treat it's fine

Totally agree with this. There were 2 supports at Finsbury but it opened at 3pm and Baxter Dury wasn't on until 6pm, it was sold out to so no excuse on saving costs by not making a day of it.

Castlefield Bowl promoting drug use? Outrageous!

It’s an unofficial Twitter page tbf, but they seem to do a good job of posting up set times at least!

Almost certain Pulp are scheduled for 9-10.30 and the 11 curfew is just a bit of leeway in case they’re late on or whatever.

Are there usually food stalls at these Castlefield gigs?

Not sure I'll have chance to get something after work. Traffic dependent.

Yes there is one or two. Wrap it Up (who are at Glastonbury) was there in 2021 but not sure about now. There's always been something though so if you're not too fussy you'll be fine

Also if you're wanting food my advice is to enter the venue at the Dukes/train arch/main part of Castlefield side and not the Science and Industry Museum/road side, as the main bar and food are down that part of the venue. its small so either side is fine in reality, but much easier as you don't need to cross through the whole crowd to get to them

I did note that the 2011 Hyde Park show wasn't all that far removed setlist wise, meaning it probably wasn't far off in length: Pulp Concert Setlist at Wireless Festival 2011 on July 3, 2011 | setlist.fm

Mind you it would've been for a much cheaper ticket price, such is the rate of gig inflation between 2011 and 2023, and at a festival with a bigger undercard (including, among others, Foals, Grace Jones, Metronomy, Yuck, Hives and Horrors)

Foals played?

I was at that but have no memory of them being there.

Listed on setlist.fm as being there: Foals Concert Setlist at Wireless Festival 2011 on July 3, 2011 | setlist.fm

Plus a few vids on YouTube.

Saying that it looks like Wireless had 2 stages at that time so if stuck to the main stage and Foals were in the tent, could've ended up skipping them.

Perhaps also a pause for reflection of how far Wireless has gone from Pulp and Foals. Even if a Friday that year of Black Eyed Peas, Bruno Mars and David Guetta was perhaps an indication for the direction of travel.

Daft Punk played Wireless, lest we forget.
