Discoveries from Lower Down the Line Up

Starting to build up the clash finder and check out smaller acts but:

Henge are delightfully bonkers - can hear Beta Band/Django Django in their more popular tunes - playing twice Croissant Neuf and then Truth stage on Sunday/Monday morning

Oh My God It's the Church - similarly fun (sensation seekers and truth)

Wunderhorse - like some tunes have added

Adwaith - Welsh indie - Croissant Neuf and The Park

Viagra Boys - are excellent, seen them a few times now - definitely do it (Park)

Definitely catch Mik Artistik (Rocket Lounge, Rabbit Hole) and Showhawk Duo (Croissant Neuf, The Hive, The Bandstand, Bimble Inn, Toad Hall) if you can

Hmmmmm. I came away a little underwhelmed.  Didn't help that the crowd were dead and not dancing to it, but it was all pretty Ronseal.

Hmmmm might give them a go and hot step it over to Fleetmac Wood at Stonebridge if vibes are minimal.

If you want a great lively band to see, check out the Old Time Sailors.  There's about 18 of them and they play old shanties but in a really fun way, going in amongst the audience and dancing around.  Can't make it sound as good as it is but I've seen them a few times and everyone is up and dancing - I'm sure they'll pop up all over the place - they turned up unannounced at Bearded Theory at the weekend.  So far they're doing three sets on the Thursday - 0100-0300 at Rimski's Yard sounds tempting!

They are in Croissant Neuf over the weekend (I think twice They are showing there on clashfinder on Thursday and I think I read somewhere that they are playing Saturday afternoon too, I only came across them because of a recommendation on here somewhere but I'm definitely going to try and see them at some stage over the weekend

Really like what I hear from Wunderhorse.  Will defo check them out if I can.

Another vote for Wunderhorse, though we've already got tickets for him in November in Manchester, so might do The Lathums instead (Another recommendation for anyone who hasn't listened)

Working Men's Club are very good too

You clearly know how I usually feel about sea shanties... One of the worse things to come out of lockdown.

Ha ha!  I know I didn't sell them well but they are great fun - not traditional shanties but more lively old traditional songs - not exactly folk or shanty (both of which I agree can be hard work) and they seem to clearly have so much fun themselves it's hard not to be swept along.

I think it might all be on Thursday - they're probably off to appear at another three events over the weekend as they are incredibly hard working and pop up everywhere!  Croissant Neuf and Sensation Seeker's stage but also Rimsky's Yard - an area I didn't know existed but am determined to visit this year.

Wunderhorse are one of my “must sees” now. Think I first heard about them on this thread. Have no idea how popular they are though - currently planning to catch Say She She on WH which would have us arrive just as Wunderhorse starts. Is tent likely to be totally full or still OK do you think? Have been burned a few times before by acts we wanted to catch at JP but arrived too late to do more than listen from outside!

Listened to Panic shack off the back of this thread.I dont think I have time to see them. 30 mins from WH when Young Fathers finish is prob enough, but right trek up to Strummerville, to come back down for Carl Cox at 11pm.

But I will keep an eye out for these again. Thanks to whoever posted them.

Enjoying Wunderhorse and think we will be opting for them to kick off Saturday.

Also really enjoying Skindred after I seen a few on here excited about the booking. Watched a live set and looks lots of fun. How early do you reckon you will need to get to Truth Stage Thursday to see them?

Loving how many people seem to have discovered Wunderhorse - listened to them for the first time yesterday and was really impressed. Probably been my top new discovery so far.
