There was certainly no point to the 40 odd pages of speculation on here, because it was blatantly obvious to anyone with half a brain it was The Foo Fighters from the start. Unfortunately a combination of self deception and entitlement meant a lot of people going on a completely unnecessary wild goose chase.

The point of it all is it’s a fantastic booking for that slot, and it being a secret for a while is just a bit of fun.

Obviously if you think the festival should only book acts you want then it was probably less fun.

IMO there's something of an anticlimax that it ended up being the foo fighters as they are boring
