Bearded Theory 2024

I am away with limited internet but I have read on several pages including the official site that all headliners are announced - so why are people still speculating about more to come?

We have what we have at the top of 2 stages - some I like, some I don't some I have never heard of...................

The festival will be amazing and I cannot wait to be there again.................................. as for the FB chat group - so much moaning oit is depressing!!

You’re exactly right on the wording but design-wise it would be weird to make a poster with three tiers of two names for a three day fest.

Orbital headlining the main stage but being three lines down on the announcement poster would just be a bit odd.

Looking at social media appears general response to the initial line up announcement is very positive.

I was very slightly underwhelmed at the headliners but on reflection think its great. Out of the 'headline' bands only seen Future Islands, Sleaford Mods and Orbital. I love the likes of James/Primals/Suede/Manics but only so many times a year you can see them without wanting something a bit different, which I think is exactly what they've delivered.

Agreed, it's a diverse set of headliners and not the generic 'usual suspects'.

Hopefully one more Pallet headliner to come

Bearded's official FB account says Amyl are headlining Pallet, so we have the 3 main headliners.

Isn't the positioning on the poster all to do with the contract terms between the artist and festival rather than position on the line up?

Can you screenshot or link to that please?

I can only see a post that they are headliner at the festival, not the Pallet

Looking at the website can't see it specifically says anywhere (correct me if I am wrong) that Jane's Addiction are headlining the Pallet either. Both them and Dinosaur Jr are just described as UK festival exclusives. The only one it seems to specifically state is a Pallet headliner is Orbital. I'm probably way off but I am going to guess Aml & the Sniffers, Future Islands and Sleaford Mods are Meadow headliners, Janes Addiction (particularly if they have a rep for cancelling at the last minute) and Dinosaur Jr are subbing on the Pallet so 2 more Pallet headliners to be announced? Would expect as they have specified Orbital as a Pallet headliner they would have said the same if James Addiction was as well?Screenshot_20231103_193154_Chrome.thumb.jpg.6c89c32a8cda977c8605092f98fff0d3.jpg

Doesn't specifically state Pallet headliner...

Does 'headlining Catton Park' not indicate they are headlining the whole do? If they weren't headlining the Pallet surely they would have said 'headlining at Catton Park'?

Jane's Addiction aren't coming all the way over here to play 2nd on the bill on the Pallet.

Maybe, I could be way off but the fact the fact they have specifically stated Orbital are a Pallet headliner but haven't said the same for Jane's Addiction just leaves a little bit of doubt. Although on 'Planet Radio' it says they are headlining...

We'll have to see!

I think they're just using different wording so all the announcements aren't the same.

Imagine booking Jane's Addiction as a UK exclusive and they don't headline. 🙄 have a word

They announced Amyl as a MainStage headliner on their Facebook post so I think they’ll headline the Pallet on Friday. Personally I’d love to see a run Bob Vylen, Sleaford and Amyl - be a killer night. That said, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Sleaford in the Viagra Boys slot on the Meadow.

If Orbital are a MainStage act then perhaps Future Islands underneath?

Jane’s feels like a Sunday closer.

Chill out...just because they are a UK exclusive doesn't mean they are headlining (Dinosaur Jr are UK exclusive, what night are they headlining?)...although they clearly are as per my post before...whats your problem?

Possibly means nothing but I'm going off the order on the video as meaning Pallet and Meadow.

I thought that initially. I'll be gutted if Future Islands and Dinosaur Jr clash...but as they've said Orbital are Main Stage headliner don't think thats the split. Annoying thing is we probably won't know for definite until a couple of weeks before based on last year...thats a long ass wait.

Highly recommend 'Big Special' for one of the lower down bands...saw them supporting DEADLETTER last year and they were fantastic. Had a chat after, sound lads.

I don't think the clash thing is too much of a problem, to be honest. There is a bit of overlap some nights but generally you can see both if I remember correctly. Looking back on my 2023 video, I saw Primal Scream plus all of Public Service Broadcasting.

I left Skindred in Meadow halfway through to watch Primals...wish I'd watched the end of Skindred then gone tbh. Primals were great but slow start. We walked past PSB after Primals but the tent looked rammed and the babby was flagging so went back to the tent.

Finally talked a few mates into coming this year with their kids so hoping for at least one late night out.

One of the best things about Bearded is you never far from where you want to be...
