Sleeping in the queue

I've q'd overnight at D several times (though not the last two as I didn't get tickets)

You might cat-nap but

It can get lively - certainly plenty of chatter, but more impactful I recall stewards during the overnight wait shuffling the Q up/tighter on more than one occasion which makes actual sleep somewhat difficult.

In 2013 four of us got into the car park at around 2:00/2:15am on the Wednesday morning and joined the queue that had already started. In the first 20/25 mins we made friends with our 'queue neighbours' and then two of us headed back to the car to grab a couple of hours kip, then swapped with the two who were still in the queue. There was a bit of light hearted banter when we swapped over, but a few comments like 'why didnt we think of that' lol

In the four hours the queue had moved but was easy to find each other - and all we were carrying were two tents which made it so much easier than moving everything that was back in the car.

By 7am all four of us were back in the queue waiting for the final push to the 8am opening.
