Travelling to the Tor for Wednesday Sunrise

What's the traffic likely to be like around Glastonbury town on Tuesday night going into the morning, Depending on the weather We're keen to be on the tor for Summer solstice before heading to the festival, knowing the town I imagine parking/traffic will likely be a nightmare?

The A361 heading East out of town towards Pilton will be very busy from early evening Tuesday as festival traffic builds before car parks open at 2100 so you are best to park in town and walk from there.

Parking in town is likely to be tricky but you could get lucky in the smaller car parks tucked away on the north side of High St such as Norbins Road.....there's also a fair amount of on street parking available near there on Manor House Road and it's all an easy 10 minute walk to the base of the Tor.  Be very wary of the Silver Street car park which is nearest to the Tor....they have ANPR cameras and will fine for even the shortest over-stay.

This is great insight, thank you 🙏 , I know the car park in question, definitely figured one of the street parking spaces further out, think we’ll play it by ear as such and make the call on arrival, also I guess the weather will make the decision easier!

this is the obvious choice but this year the impossible choice as sunrise is at quarter past silly and the gates don’t open til later.

tor for the win
