Even if there was a lack of headliners in general, PS has the reputation and logistics to bring someone in to fill the vacancy. Acts like Migos in 2018 or Megan Thee Stallion in 2022 were obviously not touring but were brought in just to play PS and then added one or two extra dates.

Especially when it comes to rap-acts, the European festival market often isn't "ready" for US artists, because their hype hasn't completely spilled over and the relation cost/audience isn't great. But since PS thinks of itself as a trendsetter and its audience is on top of trends and usually open minded, its one of the few fests in Europe that can get these acts when they are up and coming (by European measurement)

Definitely agree, this is where someone like SZA / Doja / Travis slots in.

As I said, I'm not gonna dive into this further, because this thread is not about Tool or the allegations against MJK, but solely serves to discuss their possibility for PS, where I think this complex is a relevant factor. If you can spare the time for a google search though, you'll find several articles aggregating the different accounts out there.

No different accounts here, just the one that was already discussed before.

Here's Tom with the weather.

Also, SZA is likely way more expensive than Halsey. It'd be a hell of an exclusive get though.

Watch them get alleged domestic abuser Playboi Carti again, lmao.

I could still see a January digital release date, as part of a wider album campaign. Get all the promo activities in a row.

Typically Radiohead and The Smiles last releases have always released digitally prior to a physical so there's a chance we could see it in the immediate future. I'm leaning more to that as I think a tour announcement for EU/UK dates is imminent.

Expecting SZA. Hoping for Lana and (not sure if she counts as a big pop star) FKA Twigs.

Sza, although she has no tourdates out for Europe yet, is someone I believe PS would prioritize over pretty much anyone if she is available. She is a heat of the moment, critically acclaimed female singer that would be the perfect fit for post 2019 PS.

Madonna is quite impossible I'd say, while Lana is said to not like touring, so if she does another leg in support of her current album, it might be realtively short. For Kylie I'd say it depends on what her status is nowadays. PS isn't really her core audience, so it would only make sense, if they could fit her in on the third or fourth slot of a day. Couple years back (2015 i Think) I saw her at a festival that only held 20.000 people but since then, she regained a lot of traction.

Do you think we could get Travis Scott and Bad Bunny or just one if we get any at all? Obviously both massive artists so I’d expect only 1 if any at all.

Tool - PJ Harvey
Travis Scott - The National
SZA - Pulp

Too many big hitters?

for me personally, I think Bad Bunny isn't playing, think Travis is instead.

Swap The National out for Massive Attack and that seems plausible imo. Maybe SZA doesnt play and someone else is swapped in.

Yeah I’m thinking the same, just because Bad Bunny could easily do stadium/big shows on his own in Spain and get more money doing it that way. My only thing leaning towards Bad Bunny potential is that he’s touring in 2024 and Travis doesn’t have anything booked post December 2023. Personally think SZA is nailed on after being on the Lolla lineup.

I've heard rumours from a different forum that Travis is doing UK gigs next year.

Ah nice. Think he’d be a great addition. I suppose it’s whether he’ll be around early or late summer as plenty of festivals he could do at either time.

I guess with the recent tour announcement, the national will be at Porto and barca,

also in the area Unknown mortal orchestra, this is the kit, bess Atwell and Kevin morby

As much as I'm wondering why PS would bring them again already after heaving them headline twice in the last four editions, this seems pretty much nailed on. Gonna be my 10th National Gig then 😄
