Christ knows where I was, I don't remember any rain.  But then I struggle to remember who I saw, let alone the weather!  Edited to add - using my last couple of minutes at work wisely, I have checked and I was in Left Field - do vaguely remember it raining outside.

GFS 12z brings the second low in but South West stays dry, bar possible light shower Sunday. Weds still scorchio, Thurs / Fri sunny but cooler, moving towards overcast Sat and Sun. So not as good as yesterday, but rainfall totals remain negligible. Hopefully there's no continuing downward trend tomorrow though.

Well, it's been emotional. Here's your last full GFS of 2024! Will Sunday improve?

 

GATES OPEN & WEDNESDAY

 

Totally dry at 9am, highs of 21-22.

 

 

Again the chance of very light afternoon rain. Highs of 25-26.

 

Temps overnight into Thursday of 14-15.

 

 

THURSDAY

 

Totally dry, highs of 18-19, same as last run.

 

Temps overnight into Friday of 13.

 

 

 

Very similar pressure picture, with the low pushing in and lowering temperatures. Latest on the right.

 

 

FRIDAY

 

Totally dry, highs of 18, same as last run.

 

Temps overnight into Saturday of 10.

 

 

Pressure almost identical. Latest on the right.

 

 

SATURDAY

 

Totally dry, highs of 19, same as last run.

 

Temps overnight into Sunday of 14 - couple of degrees up.

 

 

Almost identical pressure picture. Latest on the right. But will the green splodge push down into England?

 

 

SUNDAY

 

Better outcome here, with the rain hitting to the north and temps up from 14 to 16-17. Still not great, though.

 

Temps overnight into Monday of 11-12.

 

 

A marginally improved pressure picture, but the outcome of the low remains in question.

 

 

SUMMARY

 

Definitely an improved run. Barely any rain within in, but Sunday certainly isn't in the bag yet.

I have no idea if those diagrams show how much sun there is over the weekend but this forecast is my dream!!!

ICON has its happy face on and keeps the festival completely dry throughout (up to Sunday midday at least)…

 

 

and then has a lovely fat finger coming in, so we can assume it’s going to stay dry for the rest of it…

BBC official Glastonbury forecast in the radio just there echoes what we've seen. Hot tomorrow, cooling for the weekend, odd chance of a stray shower but otherwise, and I quote, "leave the wellies at home"

Think I might chance it and just bring trainers and layers for the evenings/mornings. I'll have a jacket and emergency poncho but mostly just concerned about having a mix of layers for warmth if needed tbh

It’s 20:15 here and it’s 21°, but there’s a definite chill in the air. It’s nice but I’m in shorts and a tee and could  for sure do with a 2nd layer. Gonna have some cold nights ahead I think so make sure you have layers!

Cold nights are more or less the norm.  Last year was warm at night but I remember 2019 being frigid as soon as the sun set.

Can def remember last year being out late without layers, but this feels reminiscent of 2022 as well, moment the sun goes it chills. Hard to remember what it’s like when you live in London 😅

Probably something to do with it being in a dip - the cold misty air maybe settles to the bottom of the vale...... or something.

Last year is the only year I remember not needing jumpers at night was just in T-shirt and shorts for 5 straight days

Thanks to everyone and of course especially @briddj for the analysis making it easy to understand for the less meteorologically inclined. It’s been a wonderful ride. I’ll take a 2022 weather rerun!
