haha, same. 4 Finals attended, 4 defeats, no goals scored.
Business as usual. 🙂

Some bad weather can't really beat a lifetime of disappointment can it :)

Anyways this is WEATHER not FOOTY

I think this run could be whoooooooooooooooooooooole lot worse. Regardless, lets wait and see what the ensemble says, and whether we start getting the UKMO and ECMWF replicating.

How is @briddj screaming FIGHT BACK and you the complete opposite.

Can we at least align our existential dread?

I appreciate that's the golden question and probably unanswerable, but how likely is that?

Fine margins as it often is in the UK - it could literally be anything at this stage for the festival weekend.

With regards Wednesday, I think we've taken a step towards poor weather being more likely but its still very much on a knife edge. I think we'll get clarity (for Wednesday) tomorrow night/Friday morning.

Position of Jet Stream, knife-edge, rollercoaster, Azores finger, Atlantic low, ebb & flow, ECM, GFS, UKMO....

Anyone else got massive deja vu?  It's the same every year (apart from 2016....)

We found love, so don't fight it. The Weather Thread is a rollercoaster, just gotta ride it. It's time for the 06Z!

THROUGH TO GATES OPEN

Again there's a small amount of rain Friday night into Saturday for the site, but it really isn't much and won't have any effect. Temps of 21-22, 23-24 and 25-26.

But this is the knife edge we're on with the big low in the Atlantic. Will it push in?

GATES OPEN & WEDNESDAY

Just like on the last run, there is evidence of heavy and rain around on Wednesday morning at 9am, but roasting temps of 21-22.

image.thumb.png.30dd84b760737b026dc77d606c9ad05d.png

This is a terrible opening day, with heavy rain all day and tempt of 19-20.

Overnight temps into Thursday of 14-15.

image.thumb.png.ac42af887ad68d4d0da76d78749601ff.png

We are, however, in a better position than the last run with lower pressure further away.

THURSDAY

Completely dry, highs of 19-20.

Temps overnight into Friday of 11-12.

image.thumb.png.be9cf0a104a6745e33e464928f61b5ff.png

The massive blob of low pressure over the south west on the last run (left) has been beaten away on this run. Fighting back!

FRIDAY

Completely dry, highs of 19-20.

Temps overnight into Saturday of 15-16.

image.thumb.png.c6967ff68fc79364a1bc9e29cbc56b02.png

High pressure definitely fighting back on this run (right).

SATURDAY

Completely dry, highs of 22-23.

Temps overnight into Sunday of 12-13.

image.thumb.png.f63433971126feb11072159df7817e76.png

Big win for the high pressure lads in this run!

SUNDAY

Completely dry, highs of 23-24.

Temps overnight into Monday of 15-16.

image.thumb.png.bda78a3e7a8ac22738daa0d8796a6c0a.png

This is a low high.

SUMMARY

There's no doubt that the forecast for Wednesday in this run is pretty bad, but it recovers for a fine festival and in the Saturday temperatures you'd be back in trainers. For that reason this is a MUCH better run than the 00Z.

Let's just hope there's a full fightback to keep the low pressure to the north on the Wednesday. And that the high pressure continues to win for the weekend. Are we calling it a knife edge again?

That's the fear at the moment.

I'm going on Weds for the first time ever so this is definitely going to come true (I'll take it for the team)

That’s a much better run overall but the rainfall on Weds could ruin the site.

We'll be fine as long as no one moves. Carefully tiptoe to your camping spot, tent up, sit in tent and make plans for the next 4 days. Don't listen to any of that "Wednesday is a great day to discover the whole site" nonsense.

Or just wait for the next run when everything will have changed and you'll be heading to the Co Op to bulk buy factor 100 suncream.

I've only been one year, but surely one day of rain wouldn't be enough to ruin the site would it?

I understand the footfall is huge though also.

Yeah, it'll be a mud bath in certain areas. Although with none of the main stages open, hopefully they'd be fine.

Roll on the fightback

Would be mud bath conditions with that but the worst of it could easily miss the site even if it does verify and the ground would quickly dry if the rest of the run is correct.

You better not, that's what's caused these issues in the first place. Stick to buying wellies and umbrellas please.

It poured down last year on the Wednesday. I had to set up my tent when it was torrential. I was however in trainers for the entire festival and rhe ground was fine the entire time.

Yeah, even if, in some fantasy land, this is exactly what happens it'll be fine.

Doubt the ground would even notice the rain on Wed given how dry it is in the lead up.

I can't even remember that.  Great festivals block out any one off rain days from memory.
