It's fun time again! Bring on the 12Z. Will Wednesday improve?

THROUGH TO GATES OPEN

Now seems set on that rain overnight Friday into Saturday, but there's not much. The loads of drying time with temps of 16-17, 20, 21-22, 24-25. Heating up!

GATES OPEN & WEDNESDAY

It's now COMPLETELY DRY for gates open, with temperatures of 17-18.

And Wednesday is completely dry and SCORCHIO at 25-26.

Overnight temperatures into Thursday of 16-17.

High pressure is in control in this run (on the right), and it's BUILDING (latest on the right).

THURSDAY

Completely dry, highs of 25-26.

Overnight temperatures into Friday of 17-18.

image.thumb.png.be7397d618566a31064b83a5e0cfd9a3.png

High pressure remains in command and looks to be staying strong (latest on the right).

FRIDAY

Completely dry, ignore the wispy blue, highs of 28-30.

Overnight temperatures into Saturday of 18.

image.thumb.png.24de9912371d8ec0110cdd99eaca8fbd.png

The low to the north is being completely repelled and heat continues to build on this run (latest on the right). However, is there a risk out off the coast of Spain?

SATURDAY

Completely dry, highs of 25-26.

image.thumb.png.c05f200ee69238fac110d0f958850bd2.png

But that pesky pocket seems to be moving up from Spain... will it get to us? Latest run on the right.

Luckily we as move overnight, the apocalypse misses Glasto and goes for south central instead. Overnight temperatures into Sunday of 18.

image.thumb.png.19cbe9c19b4f27af843357fd93380f87.png

SUNDAY

There are showers around, with highs of 20-21, but all the heavy rain is going out to the east.

Highs of 18 overnight into Monday.

image.thumb.png.2ba5b2890da6f9531513c52dbd3696d5.png

And here you can see that danger, with the pocket again having moved up from Spain to be off the coast of England. Latest run on the right.

SUMMARY

A fantastic run, and one to celebrate - but not without concerns about possible rain / thunderstorms amid the heat next weekend.

It's all to play for, and we're BACK ON THE BUS.

This is what weather threaders live for, this is vintage knife edge stuff.

Could be tents floating around after a sharp crazy deluge or it's club tropicana all weekend.

It's never simple, it's never clear cut, but that's the weather thread.

And even then… Pilton in Somerset NOT Pilton in Devon.

or just go with East Pennard. There's only one of them.

So I see that this is general info and have googled, but why do we choose GFS and not European model which was rated higher in the article I read?

No look here, I had finally erased the memory of that bloody 2011 queuing fiasco and you had to go and replant it. Thanks!

Sorry man, I feel your pain! Took 3 of us 4 attempts to get our 1 trolley up that slope. I have the occasional Iraq war style fever dream about in this day! (You weren’t there man, you don’t know!)

The ECMWF is more accurate but doesn't go out as far as GFS in terms of range. ECMWF is currently showing out till satdee of the festival.

The UKMO goes out to 120 hours and is the one I think gives the most accurate forecast. Will be in range after the weekend. Mogreps also worth a look

Anyone seen the BBC forecast tonight, it's dry and lush from now until gates open. Weather goes up to Wednesday and consistently sunny and 25c. No sign of risk in the forecast from what I saw, the weather is going to be brilliant you lucky bastards! Weather is no longer a problem in terms of mud, cold, rain or wind. It's looking brill, go and have a ball, only a week to go!

ECM similar run to earlier and the GFS. Low pressure goes south, we get warm/hot air over us and then the low meanders its way back up to us for the weekend. Too far away to be even semi reliable but it it seems to be this evenings trend! - See where we are at in the morning.

Keep up the good work with the sacrifices people!

I nearly bought a poncho earlier for a fiver but I'm superstitious that every time I buy waterproof stuff I end up needing it. Pretending everything is going to be fine seems to work for me

We arrived at PGA to find it was temporarily closed and were routed up to PGD. Rain, mud and that slippery slope you describe. But, all of us made it in one piece and in decent shape, a little damp, but pretty clean. All bar one of our particularly clumsy mates who sauntered up behind us, covered from head to toe in mud. Claimed someone with a pram tripped him, to which one of my other mates replied, yeah yeah, blame it on the buggy! That’s my overriding memory of the whole trip in on Wednesday in 2011. Laughing our asses off as we went through the gates.
