The Fusion Fire & Spice place at West Holts did an incredible kebab in a naan bread, superb. The burgers at Eat The Farm were brilliant as always and, like a few others here, my visit to the Crumble Shack was worth every penny - went for ice cream rather than custard with my crumble this year due to the heat!

Special mention also for the Mexican ice lolly stand at West Holts, perfect on a sunny day and probably the best ice lolly I’ve ever had.

Few of my mates were obsessed with the Cajun BBQ, they had it 3 times across the weekend. 

Didn’t have it myself as every time I walked past there was a mammoth queue. 

My fave was a falafel place on the market between WH and The Other stage.

Also had an amazing Katsu curry from the stalls that go from The Other stage to BBC Introducing.

Agree with the ice lolly stand in West holts was a good lasting treat and cheaper then most ice creams

Well, when the queues finally went down:

Best: The (vegan) Katsu burger from NOTSO, near the Other Stage. So good I ate four of them, three of them on Sunday.

Worst: That's all I had to eat, to be fair. Probably why I needed three come Sunday

Had greek loaded chips somewhere near BBC introducing for £6 which were great. Tons of meat and veggies and probably the best value meal I had the whole week.

Didn't eat anything terrible but had a few disappointing meals for the price. Bought an Indian wrap near West Holts one night that was about £13 for 3 tiny bits of chicken and was still starving after.

Also really loved the halloumi souvlaki wrap thing from a stall with a chalk board drawing of Lionel Richie outside as you come into the other stage field.   It had so many amazing flavours.

Heavenly sausage - absolutely can't be beat, and great value

Paletas(?) The Mexican ice lollie places, delicious and exactly what I needed in the heat

 

Worst - can't remember exactly but a non descript pasta place between west Holt's and the shops. £11 for the smallest, most disgusting pasta I've ever eaten, the toddler wouldn't even touch it

Best was the paella place between Other and BBC Introducing.

Worst by some stretch was Noodle King between San Remo and Woodsies. Cold, bland and overpriced. Even had an argument with the guy when he put sweet and sour on instead or Teriyaki and tried to just scrape some of the the sauce off and use the same noodles.

WORST: Oriental Fusion Noodles place at the bottom The Park. 

Genuinely tasteless and blander than bland. 

£12 f**king quid for Veg Chow Mein too.

Stumbled across a "Chicken Yassa" late one night.. couldn't tell you where it was but it was bloody lovely!!! I didn't even know what a chicken yassa is but now I do and will be finding another. Its Senegalese.

GOOD - Another shout for the Westlands BBQ. The beef brisket and pulled pork was very tasty.

BAD - The prices. Felt a lot more expensive this year. £7 for a bacon roll!?! Ended up shopping about for breakfast and found a meal deal for £6 (Egg and bacon bap with a tea).

With you on this one! It is was what I was after at the time as well. Id taken a photo of the stall during a morning stroll so I could remember to go back! Greenpeace Grill also did some incredible hash browns - something we were searching for in the morning for a while. There is certainly a need for a stall that specialises in just hash browns and potato tots!

Worst for me was Annie Maes mac and cheese, second time I’ve had it and I just don’t get it. It tastes weird to me, can’t put my finger on it.. I don’t love mustard so maybe it’s that?

Best I ate was either the cauli wings from Mexican Seoul or the chicken kati roll with masala chips and mango aioli from a stall near the bandstand. Can't remember the name but began with a K.
Special shout out to the mexican ice lollies, went twice and was devastated when they sold out before the weekend was over. 

Worst was a halloumi pitta from the Greek souvlaki stall between the pyramid and san remo. So dry and bland.

Also - did anywhere actually do a £6 meal deal? I kept seeing it on places that either had meals starting at £9 or the meal deal was just chips.

I got a pasty, chips and beans for £6. Great value for the price. 

Do agree though that a lot of places had £6 meal deal stickers but seemingly nothing available for that price.

Worst was a vegan burger from the bottom of the green fields - I eat a lot of veggy stuff because my wife is, but that was just gross, my kids didn't like it either. Mrs sprockrock did though... 

The best I have two contenders - one was a falafel wrap from urban falafel just behind west Holt's field, that was packed with delicious salads, and the other was a surprise contender for me I got a spicy chicken wrap from a place opposite BBC introducing which was outstanding, packed with chicken and salad and a good portion of spicy chips too. Voodoo chicken or something.

They do use an absolute sh*t load of Mustard… We had the one near the Acoustic tent which was making their batches extremely mustardy… The one down in the main market less so, but could still taste a lot of mustard.

One of the things that makes it for me, but then I do like mustard.

Their pumpkin katsu was very good too, too much rice for me but the rest was lovely. 

Other good stuff:

Truly Crumptious was delicious as ever, had vegan pate and onion marmalade one

Vegan chocolate crepes in the Park were lovely as was vegan gelato (carrot cake gelato was amazeballs)

Goodness gracious tofu burger was yum, always a good staple with the lovely salad

Vegan Pizza by NYC Downlow was decent

 

Disappointing

Vegan french toast was just chewy

Lebanese Mezze - found disappointing and quite bland

Vegan Chocolate crepe from by the exit to the railway at croissant neuf/greenpeace crossing was lacking chocolate

I got those before I went to watch Ivo Graham. Absolutely amazing, normally have their one with the tapenade but this was top notch.

They also demanded I sing my order in the style of Lady Marmalade before they'd give it to me.

Best: Crumble Shack. First time trying it this year. Had it every day bar one. Absolutely delicious. Leftfield saw more of me than it would have done if I didn’t need somewhere in the shade to eat it. 

Worst: Cornish Mining Company (or something like that), just off the Pyramid field. I bought a bacon & sausage bap. Absolute shite. Dry, lifeless. Meat was rubbery. It was a sorry state on a plastic plate.

Best: No Bones Jones, the Paletas ice lollies, and the really good halloumi wrap from the place called CHEESE near Williams Green.

Honourable Mentions: chicken burrito from the Mexican Cantina, chicken burger from the place next to Bath Organic Farms (William’s Green).

Worst: absolutely sh*t, soggy, pizza from

the stall opposite the Open Arms. It tasted like a £1 value one from a supermarket, and I told them so.

Best - Sri Lankan street food stall by the other stage, the paneer masala was lovely. There was a nice halloumi stall by other stage too.

Worst - the only bad meal was I think called noodle city on the walk to the pyramid from the woodsies area. My fiancée had it and it was awful

Worst: Mexicana Cantina Chilli Burrito (Williams Green). Bland af and the fella who put it together might as well have just thrown it onto your lap it was wrapped that badly.

Best for me was Pietanic at the top end of T&C. They had a cheeseburger pie that was amazing, and the portion sizes were really great.

Forgot the name of the place, but it was on the path from WH to Other on the right hand side. They did a very generous portion of Crayfish with chips and sauce. Was beautiful. 

The samosa place near Pyramid was great value and tasty, 4 samosas for 6 quid.

Glad you like Urban Falafel. Everytime I walked past it looked so empty (I think as next to the v busy looking Eat the Farm place) and I kept feeling bad for the lads manning it. 

For me:

Best: No Bones Jones and the Dosa from south Indian streetfood, both near WH. Also had a delicious mushroom, spinach and chickpea curry from the Indonesian Coconut Curry stall opposite BBC Introducing. Arguably the portion was a little small but it was scrummy. 

Worst: Peckish Peacock chickpea and spinach curry in The Park. In reality, most onion and so bland. Made even more annoying as its opposite both the lebanese place and the great mexican chili place. They both had longer queues but I wish I'd just been a little more patient and got in one rather than opting for PP.
