It’s a shame the whole set (including Lily) was never broadcast or put on iPlayer in full (unless someone can point me in the right direction)

Here you go

She really did absolutely crush it. Although still thinking about my friend’s teenage daughter who thought she was introducing ‘Billie Eilish’ onto the stage only for Lily Allen to walk out instead hahaha.

I think she's a banker for sub, not headline though. I do think though, that video does not represent her vocally great.

...all want a word. Olivia Rodriguez is one album deep. She needs to get a couple of good ones under her belt then we can talk.

Tbf, she’s have the same amount of albums as Dua and Fender wouldn’t she by the time it comes around. (Not that I think she’s doing it)

Pulp just aren’t doing it after headlining the likes of Neighbourhood this year, just cannot see it.

Still think it’s:

Dua Lipa

Blur/DM/Coldplay

Madonna

You're entitled to think Blur, Pulp Dave, Sam Fender and Harry Styles are all 'better' headline bookings than Olivia Rodrigo but its totally irrelevant to the speculation discussion being as there is understood to be two female headliners.

With it currently looking like a very small pool of acts available that can be filling the two slots.

Personally I think the Festival should be giving someone a go on just 1 or (2 by the time the album comes out) albums.

The argument against is that you are just a flash in the pan, or that history wont see them as a headliner sized.. on the flip side, it could look very very favourably. I.e. Catapault into superstardom.

She's massive globally. Clearly talented. Im not sure that I'd watch her headline, but get her booked.

Dua Lipa, ACDC, Olivia Rodrigo

I doubt ACDC happens, but that would be the dream set of headliners.

Something new, something fresh & something classic.

What's the difference between 'new' and 'fresh'?

Someone with barely a handful of tunes it seems.

Dua Lipa and Olivia Rodrigo have 3 albums between them and about 5 known tunes, all of them for little kids. Tiny little kids. Not sure Olivia Rodrigo has even played a gig thats gone longer than 1 hour.

Either of them headlining a 2 hour + gig to a crowd of 100k is absurd but thats where we are with the festival.

That's where we are with those that are little unrealistic. The festival aren't pushing that narrative. They want gender equality and there's plenty of ladies around to allow that to happen without having to resort to Olivia Rodrigo.

Loads of bands have done it on 2 albums.

Oasis, Coldplay and Ash did it with one album.

Just think its stupid to have to have 1 or 2 female headliners every year. Sometimes, like this year, its just not a runner. But then some years it could be all 3. Or more of a representation on the other stages, undercard. Same for non white acts.

Patti Smith and Mary J didnt headline but they owned 2015 for example.

I thought the 'it'll be 2 females next year' was as that was just how it was shaping up. I.e. 1 was already booked, 1 was in the pipeline.

Most of these are fair enough but the idea Dave would be a bigger booking as a Pyramid headliner than O-Rod is completely for the birds. I’d like to see him headline the big one but at the same time he could quite easily do the Other without anyone raising a single eyebrow.

I think theyre under huge pressure after this year. Missing out on Taylor again is a huge blow.

Although if Madge headlines its all good.

A lot of eyebrows would be raised if Dave headlined the other, what are you talking about.

Would they though. Would they really. In terms of mainstream crossover he’d stick out like a sore thumb compared to the list of headliners over the last decade.

Yes they really would, it’s just not gonna happen. They wouldn’t offer it and he wouldn’t accept it. He’s way bigger than Stormzy was when he headlined in 2019.

Must have missed all the hits he’s had which compare to something as huge as Vossi Bop. Agree to disagree.

You literally have missed them then haha. Location is 4x Platinum in UK, Vossi Bop 3x Platinum.

Thiago Silva, Funky Friday, Clash, Starlight, Sprinter etc all huge Dave songs.
