Fred again?? Next year?

I've just watched his Reading set again on iPlayer having a chill day at home.  I have no doubt that set, or something similar, would tear the Pyramid a new point next year.

 

Those of you that don't think he's good enough, or that its not real music, or that he's pretending at unplugged decks etc etc need to get over it - that's one of our headliners right there 🙂

New album isnt the best, resident advisor has had a pop at it. Surely that's a savage garden melody on the "peace" song 😬

 

The RA review is actually quite lazy in that it makes a Brass Eye/Partridge type claim that Fred wrote a "third of all songs in the UK charts in 2019". The correct stat, cos I checked, is that songs he co-wrote were at number 1 for around a third of the 52 weeks of 2019..

The whole pitch and bottom few rows of seats to yourself if he uses a central 360 stage in the middle of the pitch... The seats alone hold 90k 🙈🤣

Randomly off topic, but did you know that they 'could' potentially apply for events up to 115k (90k seated 25k pitch?) I think the record is just under 100k, and I've only ever seen applications go in for 'events up to 100k' but the capacity option is always there, apparently, for the right configuration. 🤷‍♂️

Randomly off topic, but did you know that they 'could' potentially apply for events up to 115k (90k seated 25k pitch?) I think the record is just under 100k, and I've only ever seen applications go in for 'events up to 100k' but the capacity option is always there, apparently, for the right configuration. 🤷‍♂️

 

So Foo Fighters and Adele in the round didnt hit 100? The other thing is that the pitch at the Coliseum wasnt even fully sold. If you check one of the overheads theres an entire area thats empty and its likely due to fire code. I found that kind of odd that they set it up that way. Possibly due to crowd movements cause Fred was switching spots throughout the show. And dont forget this show was announced with a week before showtime and  still sold 75,000 tickets. think he could sell as fast at Wembley or it would have to be traditional sales?

 

The other thing is I dont think they could have the same ticket format for the seating areas. you bought tickets by specific section and it was just general admission in the section. But nobody was checking tickets when you went to the section. So you had a bunch of people who bought $40 nosebleed tickets just sneak down to the areas of people who paid $150. Would there be enforcement or just trust that people are being honest with their tickets.

I was told months back (not too long after Glastonbury) that Wembley was on the cards for 2025, but it seems to have gone quiet now.

 

Given the line doing the rounds about Glastonbury lining him up then it falling through, due to 'burnout'/a quieter 2025, maybe the original plan was stadium shows & Glastonbury but they're now on hold/postponed. 

 

I'm just making an educated guess though, the bit of info I had was the Wembley bit, nothing Glastonbury related.

He would he one I would certainly enter in the 2027 conversation. For me it's a case of who they will go for as a 2027 female headliner.

Nope, I think they have only ever applied for 100k licenses, due to configurations desired, but the safety certificate permits the numbers I mentioned above, or something like that. I don't really know, this is just stuff I've read online, and the only verification I can find is Wiki. But obviously if you sell 100k tickets, a certain % will always go unused for various reasons. 

Technically, at Wembley, it's separated by tiers, and quite difficult for normal ticket holders to move between different tiers once inside. It would be fairly easy to move from say pitch side seats to behind the goals though, as you can move around the concourse of each tier with ease. Whilst they do have stewards on each entrance, they definitely don't / can't check every ticket every time. Pitch standing and the lower tier also share the same concourse at some events, so easy enough to move between these. So much so that at some lesser attended events, such as the Capital FM STB when I attended, at least some of the bottom tier of seats was used as 'unreserved seating' for pitch standing to sit if desired. 

Having said all of this, I attended the Euro Semi Final, and there was without a doubt many more than the (covid) restricted number quoted in the press in attendance, many many more. So where there's a will there's a way.

IF Oasis make it that far, that could end up accurate. By Noel's own admission - they never quite had the Glastonbury performance they desired. This would be a chance to put it right, if they've done everywhere including the rest of Europe by then.

 

I could also be talking absolute bollocks wearing rose tinted glasses as someone who would love to see them do it, though.

I had predicted Fred, Oasis and said female. Right now it would be Sabrina I think being the target. There is information of negotiations and I reckon that is more to line her up for 2027 than fit in this year.

 

Noel has said a piece about this is basically and in and out swansong, I think they both retire when this is done because who's going to watch even Liam separately sing what they just did together to how many people? Glastonbury taking 2026 off hasn't been done if there is as any idea that Oasis will only last for 25 and 26 and they would have got info. I don't think Glastonbury could afford to take 27 off with Oasis around and made it so they had both 27 and 28 to go at. It might be a long shot but I think the fallow early may have had more to do with Oasis than Taylor being available. I would be surprised if Oasis went on longer than 27 but there is a slight chance they might do two years, have a break just to keep the iron got.

 

I feel Fred, Oasis, Sabrina, Sam Fender, Chappell and Fontaines are a very good prediction to cover their next two running years. Obviously anything could happen before then but you've 3 up and coming options to include females in as well you'd think they would take advantage of two of them over those years.
