I appreciate the encouragement Ben! I've looked at it in depth over the weekend and logistically I just can't make it work. I have a wedding on the Saturday that I could easily navigate (it's local) but I'd need to incorporate two 12 hour shifts between Wednesday and Sunday. Take (probably) Wednesday and Friday out for work, plus the Saturday for the wedding and it just doesn't make sense. I think I'll stick to my plan to arrive early on the Sunday morning, go straight through until Monday close, drive home the 40 minutes (when sober) and sleep then. It's gonna be very different but I'm looking forward to throwing the kitchen sink at a one-shot 24-hour Glastonbury experience

Very grown up, what's happened to you 😉

Be interested in your report back from your 24hour party

I just re-read it and sighed. I'm trying to rinse as much out of a day ticket as possible. I'm even not drinking at the wedding the day before for "prep". At least the wedding will take my mind off the FOMO on the Saturday. Although, god knows how I'm gonna handle the Wednesday, Thursday and Friday

If it's any consolation those 3 days are going to be rubbish. Sunday is where it is at this year.

So far... purchased a bucket hat, and become unemployed - so no guilt about using up holiday allowance on a non-family, just-for-me event. (Trying to put a brave face on it with attempted wry humour)

Sorry about the job, that's a pain 😞

please report back!

Tested them all now, I tested these three.

  1. Mountain Warehouse - Orange Airbed

    • This airbed from Mountain Warehouse is incredibly lightweight, probably weighing under 1kg. However, it's quite narrow, making it difficult to find a comfortable position. It claims to be self-inflating, but the inflation is minimal, and it lacks sufficient cushioning, leaving you feeling the floor beneath you.
      Rating: 3/10
  2. Decathlon Comfort - Blue Self-Inflating Camping Mattress

    • Weighing approximately 1.5kg and compact in size, this airbed offers a decent sleeping area, slightly smaller than a single bed but larger than your average airbed. It self-inflates effectively, requiring only a few additional breaths, and features convenient vents to prevent air loss.  Nice and comfortable, far better than most airbeds.
      Rating: 8/10
  3. Decathlon Ultim - Grey Self-Inflatable Camping Mattress

    • The Ultim from Decathlon comes in a massive 1 metre square bag, weighing just under 3kg. Offering more sleeping space than the Comfort and double the cushioning, it provides exceptional comfort, akin to a proper bed. However, its size requires more effort to inflate fully, and it's noticeably heavier and pricier than the Comfort.
      Rating: 7/10

We've decided to go for the Decathlon Comfort, given the difference in price and size the slight lack of comfort compared the the Ultim is worth it, if you weren't carrying the kit miles to your campsite it would be the Ultim however. Hope that helps!

Just impulse bought a memory-foam pillow. So comfy 😊 Looking forward to taking it to Glasto

First year with a pillow last year … game changing … before that I used piles of clothes

Good to hear! Have used blow up pillows last few years, not bad but not great. Tend to slip out from under your head a lot. Excited about this one!

Went to Dunelm. Bought three ridiculous chairs for camp.

Bought a selection of tinned cocktails to test what will make the lineup at our tiki bar, following last week's ice experiments with the coolboxes. Also bought some plastic marg glasses.

Drank some of those cocktails.

A great question. They were all great.

Classic Cosmo Ready to Serve Cocktail | Whitebox Cocktails This was exceptional. 11/10. I didn't even know I liked a cosmo.

Clapton Craft x Whitebox x Pensador | Mezcal Margarita Also very very good. Both of these will be travelling to Glastonbury with us!

Apparently, if you're into a dirty martini this is excellent too Whitebox Cocktails | Tiny Tee's Dirty Martini – Clapton Craft

Next week is freezing and defrosting to see how some pina coladas travel!

Moth cocktails are the other ones that come highly recommended .

We tested the Moth cosmo at the same time - it was a tiny bit cheaper but not a patch on the Whitebox!

Got some more Moth ones to try next time we get through the cans. A very tough process but one that must be done...

There’s some flavours in the mixed box I wasn’t so keen on but they knock your socks off I’ll have another look and look at yours too

I think the Moth Pina Colada is the best Pina Colada I've found in a can yet! We're on the lookout for a quality Espresso Martini so if anyone has any suggestions we will suffer testing them!! Found the Moth one a bit fumey so might end up mixing and taking our own in a plastic bottle - although I'm toying with brewing a fresh one for the novelty.
