Open'er Festival 2024

They didn't headline (or even co-headline) in 2018, so I bet they wont this year either, having in mind that the festival has become more youth-oriented since then.

But who knows... the available options are very limited. There were also some rumours about Drake summer tour in Europe, but it was back in December and no updates since then.

Yeah, you're right about MA.

Drake would be extremely expensive and we have to bear in mind Open'er already got 4 big names for the other days and Sam Smith, 21 Savage and Skrillex surely weren't cheap either.

I don't know if such a move would shift enough tickets, flights and hotels are expensive already.

ANYWAY, they can't wait long, can they?

Yeah, that's true. I am just desperately looking for other options 😄 I think they will go with some smaller name (like Future) and make Skrillex a co-headliner.

Let's hope it's a matter of days, not weeks...

Yeah you can say what you want, but that third day is actually quite strong. The combination of Doja Cat, Sam Smith, 21 Savage and Ice Spice is actually stacked for that kind of audience. Some good 'indie' that day too, with Air, Sampha, Slowdive and Modeselektor.

+ Artemas, Alec Benjamin & Gloria Groove for Alter Stage.

A weird set of announcements, I must say.

Disclosure made my gf very happy, even though we're probably going to see them at BKS.

Hopefully they will add one more Main Stage name today... today's batch is very weak, especially that they were silent for more than 2 months

You have your Main Stage name: Tyla!

Also d4vd added to the Alter Stage.

Tyla is a nice addition! But that's all for today. Still no headliner for Saturday, also still 2-3 empty spots for Main Stage and Tent Stage...

Very happy with Disclosure! The lineup is pretty stacked.

With today announcement we're left with (in terms of international acts) 1 headliners, 2 main stage acts, 2-3 acts on other stages.

I looked at other festivals around these dates and here are some acts I've seen:

  • Still available headliners options: Fred again, Future, Playboi Carti, LCD Soundsystem (plus they can always throw a curveball like Tyler or Lana)
  • Main stage artists (some maybe can even be co-headliners): Sabrina Carpenter, Bring Me The Horizon, Camila Cabello, Massive Attack, Kraftwerk, Kali Uchis, James Blake
  • More available acts (mainly listing acts I'd rather see added to the lineup): SOFT PLAY, Todd Terje, Jon Batiste, Yussef Dayes, Barry Can't Swim, Laufey, Don Toliver, Jamie xx, Turnstile, Viagra Boys, Royel Otis, André 3000, Oliver Tree

Honestly if I had to guess I think Fred is our last headliner with a toss between Future/Carti and Sabrina/Camila/Kali rounding out the main stage. As for the remaining tent acts I'd love SOFT PLAY, Todd Terje or Jamie xx. Since I willed Disclosure into existence I'm hoping one of them will also be added. 😂

Nice list! But:

BMTH and Playboi Carti are at some other Polish festivals this year, so they are defienietly out. Royel Otis were just announced for a October gig in Poland which doesn't cross them out but make them less possible.

LCD Soundsystem are not available on Saturday (day with no headliner).

Also, James Blake is quite busy during our weekend, with only Saturday available.

Don Toliver played in 2022, so I guess it's too soon for him to come back.

Fred Again doesn't have any dates for July, so even though he's my dream headliner, I am afraid it won't be him 😞

I think the most possible acts from your list are Future, Kali Uchis, Camilla Cabello, and Barry Can't Swim. From the acts that are around Open'er, I'd also add RAYE, MO, Zara Larsson, Arlo Parks, Stormzy, J Hus, PJ Harvey, Aurora.

it's getting ridiculously long and they're close to break their record - the latest they announce their last headliner was in 2014: Faith No More on May 30...

It's worth it to break the record for its own sake then 😉

So we have our last headliner. I wonder how many other artists had dropped out on the way before they signed Hozier for a headliner slot... 444481786_859021299595068_8793892647809220644_n.thumb.jpg.01b67c7f6c5cf59e1cb9b2064174db55.jpg

Less than 3 weeks to the festival, do we expect any new name or the lineup is supposed to be complete?

There are around 6-8 names missing (mostly Tent Stage and Alter Stage) + the whole line-up for Beat Stage.

I got back to my notes from before (handy! 😄) and now it looks like this:

Wednesday: 1 name for the Tent Stage (international), 1 for the Alter Stage (Polish)

Thursday: again 1 name for both of the tents, international one for Tent and probably a Polish one for Alter

Friday: 1 name for Alter Stage, the replacement for Yaeji

Saturday: 1 name for Alter Stage, a Polish one

6 artists overall, majority of it local. Plus the DJs, of course. Or maybe there are 4 concerts daily at the Alter Stage now 😉

They can easily do it in one announcement. Tbh I'm more concerned about the timetable atm, cause some days are really stacked...

No Beat Stage this year unfortunately 😞

Did they confirm the new stage is replacing it?

I wouldn't consider it as a replacement, completely different line-ups. This new stage is something similar to Rossmann stage we had in 2022 (mostly polish artists).

A weird move. Even though there are many places to dance at the festival, the line-ups of the Beat Stage were really quality stuff.

That new stage seems quite cool, 4 new international names. I assume we're going to get the remaining artists with the timetable announcement, hopefully next week.

So, the line-up is officially closed - the only international name added is Mabel - quite disappointing. All in all, it's still pretty strong line-up - now let's wait for the timetable and hopefully no painful clashes 🙂

Timetable's not bad.

L'Imperatrice could play a bit earlier, cause the end of their gig is probably going to clash with Dua Lipa. One has to choose between Kim Gordon and Fat Dog. It's tight in the triangle Sampha -> Sofia Kourtesis-> Slowdive. Other than that it's okay.

The timetable is great, except for the L'Impératrice/Tinashe clash.

Do we know how long each artist is going to play? because I couldn't find it on the site.

Also, are there any recommendations on the polish acts?

No, we don't know that, but usually it's something like this:

1. Headliners: 1.5h (Foos will probably play longer).

2. Other Main Stage acts: 1h - 1h 15 min.
3. Acts on other stages: 50 min - 1h.

Depends on what music you prefer. If you're more into 'alternative' genres, I can recommend Lordofon, Zalewski, Daria ze Śląska, Kasia Lins. If you prefer pop or rap, check out OKI and Pro8l3m. If you like jazz, Skalpel and Kosmonauci are worth checking out.
