Usually about two weeks out I think. Although some do get offered later (drop outs etc).

Monday shift you wouldn't find out until you get there and pick up you shift sheets

not that its a problem for me but doesn't that mess with people's transport choices? Like if you didn't get one you could travel home on Monday if you know beforehand, book trains etc, but might need to stay over if you do get one?

Doesn't impact us as we're staying over anyway but just interesting. Assuming Mondays are very sought after same as earlies?

Don't think they are as sort after. Whilst it's nice to know you have a shift that definitely isn't going to be during the festival, I think by that stage a lot ot people just want/need to get going.

I suppose it's like earlies. Only sign up if you can be flexible.

Having said that, I've never actually had a Monday shift at Glastonbury. I'm basing this on doing Monday shifts at other festivals. Can't see why Glastonbury would be any different though

There's an absolutely tiny handful of Monday shifts - by the crossroads between the oxfield and gate B, and the gates at Oxfield - both ends. Thats about it, which is perhaps 10-12 people. Cant think of anywhere else that needs them, the rest of the gates are handed over to security late Sunday.

I never sign up for em, cos by that time i am hankering for porcelain poops and carpeted floors 😄

That said, im fresh back from bearded theory, first day back at work today, and i cannot be arsed with this at all. Counting the days til im back under canvas at Glastonbury!

One thing to remember with earlies is that all 3 shifts are the same. Fine if you get morning shift, great if you get the afternoon/evening shift. Can be a bit sh*t if it's nights. A friend got nights a couple of years back. She did feel like she was starting the festival off on the back foot, and did struggle a bit. Doesn't help that you are trying to sleep during probably two of the noisiest days in the Oxfield.

Can't remember exactly but I think I remember her saying she was glad she'd done it but that she probably wouldn't want to do it again.

I've thought about this, and I think I could take it, especially if I didn't treat Weds/Thurs as part of the festival, and focused on being right for the music days

That's all true, though worth noting that Even within the couple hundred people who do get earlies, the number of those on nights will be tiny - just because most gates won't be open 24/7 yet.

We got a Monday shift last year. 0600-1400 on the Oxfield gate. We were really close to our tent, and it was quite quiet, so took it in turns and kept popping back to pack up!

Had a dream shift pattern last year (no nights) - only downside was leaving Monday afternoon in shedloads of traffic.

Have ticked Monday again, but sometimes think it affects our chances of getting the hallowed earlies!

Hi everyone!

I can’t quite believe it but I’ve landed myself a spot with the Bin Painting team.
It’s my ultimate dream job to have at Glasto and I feel beyond grateful to have secured a spot.

I’ve put my Avalon bar job back in the kitty as the painting is more suited to me and I get the whole festival off.

For anyone still trying don’t lose hope! I’ve had 2 opportunities come completely out of the blue within a week of each other. I hope my bar space goes to one of you lovely lot. Keep the faith friends 🤞🍀

Thank you so much 🥹❤️ Honestly it’s a dream come true! I think I’ve taken the hit on my deposit but i figured I would’ve paid that anyway for a ticket so it’s all good! Couldn’t turn the opportunity down 🎨

Wowsers that’s so long on the farm! So you’ll be there a month by the end of the festival? That’s some lovely time out from the world 😀

Might as well change my postcode to Worthy farm 😂 I won’t want to leave and rejoin the real world after my extended stay 😂 ️
