Just watched the video - and yeah, she's got a variant on E shift - the Sunday overnight shift is removed, but instead she's given a Wednesday afternoon when the gates are busier.

For my taste, getting that would be a proper result. No overnight, finished by Saturday afternoon, and not much missed.

Yeah I get you.  I was wondering how she’d managed that as in terms of main stages Fri-Sun she’s only missing early Saturday sets! Will wait and see what we get 🤞

Question regarding shift patterns, the diagram I’ve seen shows you to do one of each shift, however on this vlog I’ve watched, the shifts don’t seem to correspond with what I’ve seen!

Also had my Oxfam steward training last night, really enjoyed it! Can’t wait to get there now.

Have been looking for some Oxfam vlogs so will watch this one on my lunch break today!

Done my training yesterday, better than I thought actually and had some really useful info in it.

Not long to go now! This time in 3 weeks I should be about halfway into my journey down 🙌🏻

This time in three weeks i'll have pitched me tent, and be putting bedding etc together! I'm staying at the Podimore travelodge on sunday night, for no real reason other than it was really cheap and breaks the drive - i'm about four hours away on the south coast so i'd rather drive on the sunday afternoon than monday morning - Oxfield gates open at about 10am on Mon, so i'll have a leisurely setup before getting shifts etc at 1pm when the marquee admin starts. I like to have my tent on the edge of one of the paths on the car park side, and not under the hum of the pylon!

Sounds ideal 😄 I’m coming down from Newcastle and doing it in one on the way down, going to set off around 6:30am and just take it easy. Can’t wait for that feeling of being there, all set up and drink in hand!

Thats a good old drive, six hours or so? There's always tons of room on the monday, definitely dont worry about that - and parking a couple of hundred yards from the tent is a right result, it makes things so much logistically easier. Two memory mattresses? why not. proper pillows? absolutely. Four choices of footwear? oh yes. When you're set up, you're there for a week, so it needs to be properly comfortable!

Similar to me. I'm stopping at the Premier Inn in Solihull on the Sunday night. I normally stay nearer to Bristol but plans on the Sunday mean I'm not leaving Leeds until later.

Aiming to get on site around 9/10am for recycling crew accreditation then up to Tom's Field to pitch my tent

If I got those shift patterns I'd be absolutely buzzing

Yeah around that, plus a few stops! Can't wait to take all the luxuries I wouldn't dare take with normal festival car park walks 😂

I'm close to losing hope at bagging my friend an Oxfam spot. where are all the pings!!!!

Definitely don't lose hope.

It's inconceivable that - with 2,400 volunteer stewards - they wouldn't be getting drop-outs at a rate comparable to previous years.

If spots haven't come up yet, I'd be 99% confident that it just means that they're holding them for the moment so as to release them as a bigger group - which if you're on the case should be of benefit as it will be slightly less blink-and-you-miss-it.

Hi guys, apparently Oxfam Glasto place(s) became available last night and at least one person was successful. Just letting you know they may become available sporadically now and if you’re still in need you might want to up your checking!

A little ahead of myself- but who knows when Maceos opens? Usually one of the first crew bars to do so I think?

If memory serves me correctly its the Tuesday or Wednesday before the festival starts

Do you mean the week before?

It's definitely always open on Monday night of festival week.

yes , a whole week before 🙂 Maceos is usually the first to open - I'll see if I can find a poster from previous years

Last year was the 14th June, so a week before gates open 🙂

Few spots for other festivals available on the Oxfam site. So close to signing up to Latitude or Trees but would totally wipe out the last couple days of annual leave I've got

Wasn't thinking when I first typed this! Meant Oxfam site

Does anyone have any tips on setting up page monitoring for the oxfam page? I am terrible at the tech but i feel like because you have to log in everytime and there is a no robot check it would be harder?

I do check it constantly but if im going up against people with page monitors set up, then i don't stand a chance.

It's possible via the paid for Distill desktop version, I set it up last year but don't ask me how - I don't remember it being that hard though.

Crucially it requires your computer to always be on, and you to have alerts to your phone via the app if you're moving away from it. I left it on for a couple of days to test it all out before the Oxfam "resale" day in case I needed it, and it didn't log me out as long as the tab was left open. Its probably your best chance. You'll get alerts for all the other festivals as well, and they're far more frequent
