Finding it hard not to get too fully engrossed in clashfinder seeing as I won’t know what shifts I’m on till arrival. Praying I don’t have a Friday shift!

Yeah, it is a bugger - i've had a tentative look but dont want to start proper planning until i know what i'm doing, and THEN i can start getting excited. If there's one specific act you're after then there's only probably one shift thats likely to make it impossible, and with the A B C D E shift plan (which probably 80-90% of us are on) youve only got about a 15% chance of a shift that knackers it up. Good odds i reckon! Pattern C has a late on the friday, from 2pm to 10pm - so thats still early enough to get at least most of a headliner in.

I dont mind pattern C at all, and would happily have that this year . . . get the night over and done with as soon as poss, Thursday off, Headliner on friday, saturday off all day, early finish on sunday - thats fine with me

Regular Oxfam, but in a group of 2 so would need to find another 2.

We've basically said we'll try to swap into watching all of Coldplay and take whatever else happens (which also means a good run of Saturday music - Cyndi Lauper, Keane or TLDP and hopefully Kasabian if it is them),  though that run of Shania/Alvvays/Avril is tempting if we can make it happen!

Wishing you the best of luck!  Fingers crossed you get decent shifts anyway 🙂

I tend to plan for each day anyway as if there were no shifts, then the minute I get handed my shifts, draw a line through those and plan whether the thing just before and / or the thing just after can still be attended in time or with time to spare / walking time etc.

Exactly what I've done! I've made myself a plan for each day on Clashfinder so whatever my shifts are I'll just work around

The only person on my list of absolute must see's is Charli XCX, which is a shame as otherwise shift D would have been perfect! Not a lot I'm bothered about on Sunday and wanting to leave that night. But it is what it is 🙂

Thank you balti pie, that’s really helpful! And yeah it is, good spot!

Daydream nation is one of those albums that i kind of forget exists for a few years, and then all of a sudden i remember and its all i listen to for about six weeks solid 😃 ah god, its a smasher. Will be hoping to see Kim Gordon, shifts permitting ofc, though she wont be likely to be playing much in the way of Sonic Youth, beyond maybe one or two tunes at the very most . .

Yeah my aim is to have a solid plan for each day so I don't get too disappointed when I inevitably have to cancel half of it.

Beyond chuffed to have secured a place with the litter pickers!  And shifts are the same time each day so planning is a breeze 😎

It’s funny you should say that because as soon as you asked I thought to myself I haven’t listened to them for ages!
Yeah I have her down as a maybe rather than a must see (as it looks like she just does her own material)

I wouldn't bank on that i'm afraid.

Does anyone know of any volunteering opportunities that are still available? Or will become available in the next few weeks?

Aware it's slim pickings so close to the start of the fest!

It'd be a huge surprise - unprecedented actually - if Oxfam places don't become available again. Probably on several occasions and right up until just before the Festival starts. But it's likely to be small numbers, unannounced, and first come first served so would need to be on the ball to stand a chance of getting one.

Finished by 9pm if you are a supervisor, one of the advantages. Plenty of time to get to your headliner of choice

@Spiritdesire here it is 👍

(i hope your username is a sonic youth ref btw!)

With the slight caveat that most people on E shift won't be working Sunday night. Only a handful are needed then as security take over the gates at about 8pm Sunday. Most on E shift will be working Wednesday morning or afternoon when the gates are at their busiest

ha - dashed the small hope of early shifts!

I dutifully tick the box every year but don't think I'll get them ever. We're a group of six, all team leaders/supervisors what ever they are called at Glastonbury so I don't think it's ever going to happen now

I'm actually wondering if Oxfam have sort of over/double booked for Glastonbury, and are absorbing any returned places; perhaps this could be a consequence of the Shindig offer.

Despite a suggestion that someone got a place a few days ago, I personally am unconvinced that there has been ANYTHING on offer since the 'resale' release. There are plenty of people from this site running page-checkers, and if there had been even one or two places, I'd expect it to have been corroborated.

Not what people (including me) want to hear, I know, but by this time last year there had been dozens of occasional places.

I'm still trying to get Oxfam places for people, but my confidence is taking a bit of a beating now !
