They don't have anything scheduled for July except a 29th July gig in the US. If they extend their European tour with, let's say, 2 more weeks, it can be them.

However it's possible they don't have Green Day as the band usually have 2-hours long concerts, meanwhile at Electric Castle most concerts are only 60-75 minutes long and on very rare times headliners play for at least 90 minutes.

Btw, the other 2 clues are kinda obvious... the first one seems to be Chase and Status (or Snow Patrol) and the other one is pretty sure BMTH.

After teasing the idea of coming to EC for a while, I've decided to make the trip next year as the line up is pretty sick.

I was wondering a few things about the festival:

it says on the website that no alcohol is allowed into the camp site. Do they sell it at the Lidl that's there? If not it's gonna cost a fortune to drink! Ha

also, I've read mixed things about the weather. I would imagine it'd be hot and uncomfortable to camp, but some people are saying it always rains and it's cold? I'm British so I don't mind that, just wondering which is most likely to be true!

cheers in advance 😊

You can buy drinks inside the festival. Lidl has a few but there are bars inside the festival area and also 1 or 2 beer gardens. But yeah, I think for safety measures you're not allowed to bring drinks at the camping area (I never camped myself there, I always rent accomodation in the city of Cluj and take the buses to the festival from Iulius Mall). You're also not allowed to bring drinks inside the festival from outside. And if you have bottles of water or juices with you, they will take them away from you if you already opened them. If the bottles weren't already open, you will able to take them inside the festival.

Regarding the weather, they had issues with the rain few years ago because it was full of mud but at the past 2-3 editions they didn't have problems like this. Maybe it's a bit cold during the nights. On average, I'd say that during the day is around 25 degrees C and during the night it can get to 10-15 degrees C. The weather is kinda unpredictable there, so there could be days when it can also get to over 30 degrees C during the day.

yeah... I don't fancy paying 5EUR+ and walking into the festival site every time I want a drink though! Ha Seems quite greedy for them to force people to do that tbh...

So the Lidl, does that usually sell alcohol that people can take to the camp site? Otherwise the camp site is gonna be a pretty boring and/or expensive place to be if you want to have a few drinks during the night!

According to the FAQ, at EC Village (that's how they call the campsite), you can't bring in alcohol.

However you can try sneak it in but I don't recommend that 😁

So the Lidl is not actually in the village? I thought at first they just say you can't bring your own so people have to buy their alcohol from the Lidl but now I'm thinking that isn;t the case... Kinda wish I'd know this before buying my ticket.

According to this year's festival map, there were Royal Camping, Royal Showers and Royal Breakfast by Lidl at the "Camping Experiences" but the Lidl Royal Market is inside the festival area

Seems like a weird place that doesnt let you drink in the camping area and lets you shop in a supermarket in the actual festival1 Hahaha

Thanks for the info 🙂

Any idea what it's like for, like, party favours? haha You seem to have been a lot... I know some Eastern European places are hard work, but Sziget was fine so you just never know!

Can we expect any more big/medium names do yoou think? Or just smaller ones now?

I think one more headliner (at the previous edition the last big name was Macklemore) + some more medium names & lots of undercard acts (probably most of these are going to be Romanian names)
