greggwhite99
Hi Everyone, 1st time at Boardmasters this year, is there anywhere to buy ice in the festival?
MilkyJoe
Not sure how Bicep are going to go down in daylight? Surely the Chroma show relies on heavy visuals?

Dukey
Set times are out, seems to only be 5 bands and an opening DJ set on the Saturday main stage, surely that’s not right? There were 8 bands a day last year but Saturday and Sunday only have 6 and Friday has 7…
gfa
Bicep just pulled out due to personal reasons and been replaced by Leftfield Late notice for sure but people are not going to be happy about that! They were clashing with Chase & Status anyway i guess

charlierc
Even made the news this morning that a crowd surge had left some people injured. Which is a bit of a scary thing to get caught up in.

It also said Sam Fender set needed to be stopped because of crowd concerns. This is a festival that has grown significantly in numbers, so it will be interesting to hear from regulars whether the organisation has suffered with this growth? gfa
The bag checks were insane when i went a few years ago, mostly looking for alcohol beyond the can limit but still. Its basically just SW england's reading at this point. thought it was a bit of a dive when i went and its a mission to get to from most places

Dukey
I went this year (I’m 30) and felt old compared to the audience. Wasn’t too impressed - went last year and thought it was great but this year was poor. Thankfully we booked the pink moon camping so was away from it all. sound was horrendous for Chase and Status and Stormzy - Sam Fender and The Streets both got cut short and there were 3 less bands in the main stage on the Saturday / Sunday. Won’t personally be returning. Shame as location is amazing and I think for the younger demographic it’s a good festival. giantkatestacks
Just reading about the crowd crush in The Times. Horrendous lack of foresight and crowd control. Sounds like they were very close to major problems.
Will b
I worked with Oxfam this year, we didn’t have any say over bag checks / crowd control but some comments: the new point stage is good but too small (or how about stop putting massive acts like shy fx or Sammy Virji on the smaller stages). the sound on the main stage was not good they need to fix that The medicaltents were really east to find - there were 2, both were massive, one next to the main stage and another in the middle of the campsites - and the big screen on the main stage told u where they were so idk what that news article comment is about lol it’s a festival for gcse and a level leavers - there’s gunna be lots of drugs. And The medics did a really good job at responding to anything that was discovered. Also I did a night shift in one of the campsites and the 3 people I found off their heads and unresponsive were all over 25 (I’d guess) soooo… toilets were much better this year than previous ones sam fender stopped his set multiple times bcs of crowd concerns that you’d find in any festival set ever (ie people feinting or falling over - fair play to him for making sure it was sorted out he said he’d had issues in the past, but it wasn’t o out of the ordinary - he just brought attention to it a lot) shame about bicep but Leftfield we’re amazing (although they only played to abour 200 people) maisie peters gets better every time I see her that Sunday wind bloody hell!
