Who was in here earlier looking for fun stuff??

COME ON IRELAND!!!

Jeez - she was wonderful first time round at EOTR just herself on the Garden, but this is absolutely f***ing brilliant. Knew she would be amazing this time round but this is right up there. Cheers for sharing!

Well, f**k the doubters - I've just watched Idles at Glastonbury & it's one of the greatest things I've ever seen in my life! Was wavering between watching them or Lankum but I think it's beyond doubt now!

FWIW I watched Lankum at Primavera Sound and especially the opening was one of the greatest things I've ever seen in my life!

Yeah but imagine them at EoTR doing the thing of asking the crowd to split and then run into each other . There will be prams and picnic baskets and roaming kids flying everywhere. Like a fire alarm in a branch of Mothercare.

But nobody would want to see such carnage, would they...

these are actual idles lyrics lol

My blood brother is an immigrant
A beautiful immigrant
My blood brother's Freddie Mercury
A Nigerian mother of three
He's made of bones, he's made of blood
He's made of flesh, he's made of love
He's made of you, he's made of me
Unity

Well I don't know lads. Maybe I'm too dense to see through their phoney facade but I thought Idles Glasto set was deadly. And having followed the last few weeks build up to your elections there, I think any band writing songs with the sentiments involved in Danny Nedelko should be encouraged. Either way, Idles or Lankum, I don't think you can lose.

Seen Idles loads of times. Including Glasto last week, which they nailed.

Theyre a bit on the nose at times but always fun.

The boat thing wasnt them, it was a Banksy thing. It was sh*t.

Putting this question here as it doesn't deserve it's own topic.

From the website:

Formerly known as the Real Ale tent, The Bear Tavern’s offering has now permanently moved to the Peacock Bar ... beers including Bristol Beer Factory‘s delicious Laser Juice, Lost And Grounded‘s flagship Keller Pils.

Is this a new change? Elsewhere they mention a 'craft beer' tent but no ales. All of which, reading between the lines, sounds like they won't have a cask/real ale offering. I haven't been for a few years so maybe this is not new but I'd find it a shame.

That would be a shame, i enjoyed grabbing a couple of beers from the real ale place on the first day

Last year the Peacock was all real ale. Maybe they've just added a wie and craft option.

Simon's in the Guardian today talking about the festival's origins: https://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/article/2024/aug/21/a-moment-that-changed-me-drunken-idea-start-music-festival-sold-my-house

They put out a message on IG yesterday that they expect to sell out, which with Twickets being fairly busy would be surprising but I imagine a lot of people taking a late chance or just finding out about/that they can afford it would visit the site and click through to the tickets page before checking secondary markets.

This is from the website:

If you’re keen on trying different things, then this is the place to go. The Peacock Bar can be found in Joe’s Green – on your way from the main arena to the Garden Stage. The semi-circle is the place to sit down and enjoy an exquisite selection of brews, it’s your new beer garden if you will.

Sit down and enjoy many of your favourite ales, IPA’s, stouts and ciders from the likes of Dark Revolution, Longdog, Hopback and Downton as well as a great selection from further afield.

Glad to see Sofia at least gets a mention.

No it's just old copy from when they moved the real ale from the bear by the big top to the peacock by the garden
