Given my track record though it might be better to just rule these ones out instead. MGMT arent touring and I doubt Adrianne (Angelina?) would be doing double duty personally, I'm expecting Big Thief though. Not expecting Anohni anywhere either. lessthanwill1
The Tubs, Superchunk and Deeper all added to Canela Party. They all seem quite likely for EOTR or Green Man. It seems that Moseley Folk Festival is also announcing on Wednesday. I think they sometimes share a headliner with EOTR right? Maybe The Decemberists are doing both. bobbyperu
my final guesses although could also see Big Thief (or AL) headline. Maybe Alex G too as his US dates all finish before EOTR. Baxter Dury maybe there will be one headliner which for good or bad comes out of absolutely nowhere though. either way there will be lots of acts on the announcement who at this moment in time I don’t even know exist who by the time of the festival will be must sees! going to be a long 2 days waiting. Woods Decemberists Sleater Kinney Alvvays Lankum Garden Mdou Moctar Camera Obscura Richard Hawley Big Top Nation Of Language Sophie Koutersis Yves Tumor

If it is anything like last year I will have a stacked "must see" list with clashes all over the place. Bring it on! You guys are a hoot. Last year was my first and it blew me away. You're a shower of lucky bastards and you should remind yourselves of that fact every morning with your porridge.

xxialac
Not against having them on the bill but Adrianne Lenker, Alex G and Baxter Dury would all be extremely disappointing as headliners and stepdown in size of what went before.

If this is your final offer, I’m tempted to accept (despite the lack of Phoenix).

Don't think this is too far from what I'd think, with some caveats: the Decemberists are absolutely headlining if they're listed as main support at All Points East ahead of more obvious pulls Phoenix and Gossip; GY!BE are not coming over a month early for one festival date (and would probably headline if they did), and surely Fat Dog aren't playing three years in a row. FWIW, I think... Woods headliners: Big Thief, Sleater-Kinney, Decemberists, Lankum Woods subs: Lemon Twigs, Squid, Nadine Shah Garden headliners: Baxter Dury, Mdou Moctar, Ibibio Sound Machine* Big Top late night headliners: Viagra Boys, James Holden (followed by Helena Hauff DJ set), Bob Vylan ( * Unsure about these, and as pointed out since Ibibio aren't big enough anyway, their upcoming London date is at Koko which is well below last year's Garden headliners' level) Edited February 5 by SweepingTheNation
ddsouza1
It can't just be me that feels Lankum would be a crap headliner? Is there a particular reason why people stopped thinking Yo La Tengo would be playing again?

Five times, at least three as headliner, seems a lot. Apparently they're doing a covers set at Primavera a la Ciutat, which might make them worth a semi-novelty revisit. I would say that they came across huge and enveloping on the Green Man Mountain stage last year, which is much bigger and more open than the Woods area - and also their one previous EOTR set was on Woods. We may understandably love Garden but if you're making a point of elevating someone to headline status you have to put them on the biggest stage. Has it been mentioned that Moseley Folk Festival the same weekend is also announcing on Wednesday? Might be misleading but it sounds co-ordinated on some major artist's part. No, just making an observation. Would expect to see words like "exciting" (which I just noticed was on their Instagram last week). Festivals usually big up their announcements to create anticipation, that's all. Not writing anything off.
