iamdiceman
Interesting point on bonnie prince billie, this is from the eotr announcement article: "After many letters exchanged between festival co-founder Simon Taffe and Bonnie “Prince” Billy, the cult favourite will be kicking things off as our Thursday night Woods Stage headliner for his first-ever Larmer Tree appearance and UK festival exclusive." The clash with eotr is really frustrating even with an increased overlap of artists, feel like i'm missing out on a lot.

zahidf
Bands who wont be playing EOTR. I actually think the EOTR line up holds up well
accordionandvoice
EOTR line up much better. Jealous about Blonde Redhead, Julia Holter, Omar Souleyman and John Maus. the rest is pretty weak though

Some lower down on the GM roster (hopefully Royel Otis, though probably not) will cross over. But yes, I think overall EOTR more interesting and comfortably ahead. robith
Good stuff lower down, but EOTR has smashed them out of the park this year imo

Royel Otis are a big deal now, they've taken off on TikTok and are in the bigger print sections of some of the July Superstruct festival circuit. Plus they played EOTR last year. Hooskerdoo
Big Thief and Explosions in the Sky would have been nice, but much prefer EotR overall. Explosions booking gives the lie to the oft-repeated claim that ArcTangent doesn't share headliners.

iamdiceman
Yeah agree with the consensus that eotr is a better lineup overall but plenty of acts at green man that would have been great although jon hopkins and sleaford mods not very exciting headliners. Would have enjoyed Big Thief, Sampha, J&MC, Explosions In The Sky, BCNR, Osees, Omar Souleyman, Max Cooper and Metz in particular out of the bigger names. zzzfest2.0
Apart from the rather weak headliners, I prefer the GM line-up overall to EOTR. To each their own. And the only truly disappointing GM headliner is Sleaford Mods. Big Thief are mighty fine, Sampha is good and Jon Hopkins just okay although I may skip him. As I posted on the GM thread, were The Jesus And Mary Chain the Thursday headliner instead of SM, the initial impression would be more delivering even though the line-up is the same.
