The Darkness would be a great Other opener. Maybe not quite as big as what we’re used to, but sure as hell a lot more fun than any of the others have delivered.

Preach.

Kinda feel they're not coming back at all if they have to wait that long. Don't think they'll be active by 2030. Neil will be well into his 70s at that point.

Same. I viewed 2022 as their last time.  Good job it was so good.

Get The Darkness on somewhere. Probably not a big enough draw for your Other opener on the Friday, but they'd be great fun in a low Pyramid slot.

I’m kind of surprised they didn’t do something this year, 20 years on from when they had the opening slot on the Pyramid

Discovered St. Paul & the Broken Bones at Glastonbury. Would be a delight to have them back again.

Their sound has changed a fair bit since they played in 2016. Still a hood live act but I haven't enjoyed their last few albums after loving the first one and liking the second one.

I mean, fair play to them if that's what they want to do but it's left me behind.

Would still catch them on a smaller stage.

Know they are billing their Wembley Arena show as a one-off celebration right now, but I'd take Fightstar somewhere dark on the Thursday night. Unironically have a great time with their debut.

The last crowded house set was on early due to another gig later in the day I think? They didn't really want to be at Glasto at first but grew into it with crowd reaction.

Wouldn't be surprised if they want to come back and do it properly at some stage

Was it? I remember watching it on the box and thinking it was great. I remember there was a comment about Billie Eilish's "ego ramp" but cannot recall any other gripes. (Not to say there was not!)

They were great. They're not a band who gripe and moan on stage so not sure where this idea comes from. Neil's reference to the Ego ramp was obviously in jest. They seem one of the most easy-going bands around. I don't think there's any unfinished business for them as afternoon on Pyramid was a perfect slot for them, so I don't expect them back. They're doing IOW the week before.

This has been known for quite a while - well at least on the R&L boards.

I think i first heard about it in like July or August

Its van mccann only with a new band

Didn't Catfish and the Bottlemen headline R+L with all but McCann as hired hands? I seem to recall a few incendiary interviews that indicated the rest of the group were effectively backed into a corner over playing those shows.

I think either all of them or all but but one of them did R&L (and the other dates around that time in '21)

Their set looked great on the TV, didn’t look unhappy to be there at all from that. They had a gig the next day.
